My problem on the Slim was that I got a brick due some misunderstanding on my side regarding some inner workings :-/
But that seems to be solved, flashed a lot yesterday while testing stability of things, looking good so far
If I don't encounter any big showstoppers I can release v1.20 by tomorrow.

If you try to flash w/o having the right .PBP where it's supposed to be, you'll just get a notice that the file is missing and FW installation can not be performed.
The flash will not be touched in that (any many other) situations.
I tried to check for as much as possible before actually touching the flash, hoping I didn't forget anything.

nice. will be waiting for it. can believe i talked to hellcat. haha. i've always heard of you. never thought you would reply... anyway, keep up the good work!! maybe you should leave the flashing flash0 screen at the exit screen longer?

another question. what if the pbp isn't the correct firmware?

This is great. Even though I don't need it now, I'm getting it anyway just for precautions.

To use the .ELF you need a working Pandora stick, yes.
Prefferabely a DDC (v4 or the such), you can run it via ELF-Menu then.

You only need it when you want to run it from a Pandora stick.
For Pandora less usage (or from DDCv6 or any other TimeMachine FW) all you need it the EBOOT.PBP in /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY plus the required updater .PBPs

i wondered all the time why u use the RECOVERY folder to place there the 3.71 and 4.01 update. if i use timemachine with the recovery flasher the same time on one memstick, i have 2 times a 4.01 updater on the ms. on on the root and one in the recovery folder. i don't know if it has to be there but it would be great if u could redirect the files to the root or u write a new dc6 with the 4.01 updater in the recovery folder... by the way its one of the greatest and most usefull apps for the recovery menu. before u released this i ever put the pandora tool for 3.xx in the recover folder. works also nice but now u can start it from the recovery fasher....

Hellcat did that since not everyone has a DDC stick & pandora battery.

yes but if he would use the root for the updater modules (401.PBP and 371.PBP) the people who have a pandora stick could use the 401 and the 371 updater for both, pandora and the recovery flasher. the people who haven't got a pandora stick just copy it to the root. so u could save a bit memspace. that's what i mean. but it can be that he has to use the recovery folder for the updater modules (401.PBP and 371.PBP).

*** UPDATE *** UPDATE *** UPDATE ***

Due to quite some requests and quite some "sensemaking", here's just another tiny update:

1.21
==========
  • Updater .PBPs are now also looked for in the memstick root
So, if you already have the .PBPs you need in your memsticks root, you no longer have to copy them into the recovery folder as well.
It still looks first in the recovery folder for the files (for those not having it on a Pandora stick and want to keep the folder structure clean) and if it can't find the .PBPs in the recovery folder it looks in the root for them - so, your choice where to put them

And for those who didn't catch the last update, for the log the list of 1.20 changes again

1.20
==========
  • can now install 4.01-M33-2 as well
  • installs 3.71-M33-4 now instead of plain 3.71-M33
  • comes now with an additional .ELF binary to be used from a Pandora stick (up to DDCv5, on v6 you can use the EBOOT version)
  • added a simlple filebrowser like thing for launching additional apps from /PSP/GAME
  • added option to override "battery low" warning
  • added version check of the updater .PBP used for FW extraction

*** UPDATE *** UPDATE *** UPDATE ***

Enjoy!
