Great work Hellcat, just one thing the rflash.elf can not be renamed. It will error out that it can't load EBOOT.PBP (if you need the full error code I'll post it) I wanted to rename it "Flash_371_401_M33.el f".

Other then that everything is working great.

Thank you very much

@tinmanx oh because of thats the elf wasn't working by me. i thaught first my slim and lite can't load it for what reason ever. but it works now for me, but just with the name rflash.elf. but that doesn't matter. the most thing which isn't good in the elf menu is that you see the eboot.pbp too, because the newset version of the elf menu load eboots too, it would be better if you would rename it not to .PBP. you could call it .rflash or .hellcat or something else. but i have to say that the app is wonderfull now and thank you hellcat for including my request into the release. also a big thanks for your other apps.

On DDCv6 (where the new ELF-Menu runns on), you can use the EBOOT version right away, no need for the .ELF one

Andy yes, currently it can't be renamed....

ok. thanx hellcat. but the elfmenu is currently based on the ddc v5(by my one.) so i can use the ddcv6 and the elfmenu. and: können wir auch deutsch reden? ich kann sowieso nicht ganz so gut englisch, da ich auch deutscher bin und sogar auch in nrw lebe

Wrong thread, but anyway

Indeed, the current ELF-Menu only runns on up to DDCv5 since it's kernel 1.50 based.
jas0nuk is working on a DDCv6 compatible version already, once it's finished I'll ask for permission to add it to the Pandora Installer as well.

(Deutsch können wir gerne reden, allerdings sollten wir das auf PMs beschränken, da dies ein Englisch sprachiges Forum ist....)
(We can speak german, sure, but we should keep that to PMs since this is an eglish speaking forum....)

yeah i know hellcat, it's an english based forum. i just asked because it's very cool to have a so good coder in germany!! i'll restrict the german to pms(is that correct english ?) ok. but now to the recovery flasher. i tried to change the name of the EBOOT.PBP inside the rflash.elf to EBOOT.PPP with hexeditor. i did that because the EBOOT.PBP is shown in the menu when it is called .PBP, but you can't start it because it is for 3.xx. so i see it but can't use it that's not so good. but everytime i try to load it it just says 0x0BADCODE. so i aks u: can you change it to .PPP or to .rflash or .hellcat ? it would be great if u could do that and if u could say me why it isn't working with .PPP.
thank you hellcat for everything...

You cant rename the .PBP but you can change the text before the .PBP. Let me explain....for example if you change it to EBOOT.rflash it won't work since the psp doesn't recongise it as homebrew. BUT if you changed it to rflash.PBP it would work since the PSP reconisges it as homebrew.

yeah i know. but the rflash.elf just loads the EBOOT.PBP. If it would be EBOOT.rflash it wouldn't matter cuz you don't load it directly from the game menu. so u could just rename the EBOOT.PBP in the elf folder for the rflash.elf. that's what i mean. so i tried to rename it inside the .elf that it loads the renamed EBOOT but it just says 0x0BADCODE. so i asked if hellcat could update the elf to load the original eboot as EBOOT.rflash. so u wouldn't see it in the elf menu.

No, the RFLASH.ELF does not actually load and run the EBOOT, it runns completely on it's own (it's a complete independant build for 1.50 kernel mode like the old(er) Pandora sticks use it).
It only fetches all aditional data it needs during runtime from the PSAR embedded into the EBOOT, that's why it's needed.

I'll see what I can do for changing the path (either to a different filename or a different folder) to get it hidden from ELFMenu.
Weird tho: The EBOOT doesn't show up in my ELFMenu.... :-/
Anyway, I'll look at this, puzzling on a new version anyway

And on a sidenote: It's indeed not possible to modify the program binary with a hex editor, neither the .ELF nor the EBOOT one - that will always result in 0x0B AD C0 DE.

hey hellcat i've got an idea. you could make just one file for the elf menu. a .PBP file with the rflash.elf as .psp data and the psar data inlcuded. that would be possible, wouldn't it if it just needs the psar more. so u haven't to have a second file in the elf folder. i hope u undertand what i mean
EDIT: it's working!!. you just have to replace the original DATA.PSP from the original Recovery Flasher EBOOT.PBP with the rflash.elf(rename it to rflash.psp) and you can load the EBOOT.PBP directly from the elf menu. but you can't rename it cause the DATA.PSP/rflash.elf loads the psar data from the EBOOT.PBP in the elf folder. but the problem with this is that the original elf is also the rflash.elf so u can't delete it. but u can use the mene point eboot.pbp
DOWNLOAD EBOOT FOR ELF MENU HERE
[Information for Hellcat: you just have to change the name of the loaded .elf inside the rflash.elf into eboot.pbp(i can't do because of 0x0BADCODE) and it would working if u call it eboot.pbp. but i would be better if u could change the name of the eboot.pbp for the loaded psar modules and the elf module name both to Recovery_Flasher.PBP. than u could load it from the elf menu as one file and with a good name ]

wth happened??
im okay but i think you need to look into something
i had the 401.pbp in the root
and i used this program to install 4.01 m33 fresh as something wasnt working previously in my mem stick

and when it was done i was surprised because it was done in such a short time
but after when i went into my flash, i figured that folders were missing (forgot which ones) and eg the internet browser wouldnt work, itd freeze

some things would freeze..

@patcharbecke:
1.30 will adress that.
The Pandora .ELF will stay the .ELF, but I changed where it looks for the EBOOT.
It still tries EBOOT.PBP in it's folder (/elf) but if it doesn't find that, it looks for RFLASH.DAT (so, just rename the EBOOT to RFLASH.DAT, it'll find it but it'll no longer show up on ELF-Menu)
If you have the Rec.Flasher installed in /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY as well, you don't even need the RFLASH.DAT.
If none of the two is found in /elf, it's also looks for /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP, so if you have the RECOVERY EBOOT installed you will not need to copy anything else to /elf

@joseph10444:
I'd need to know if you got any error messages while flashing or such.
Or what was missing.

Maybe you just don't have your Windows set to show hidden files?
Recovery Flasher writes the files in flash0: with almost the same file attributes like the Sony updater does, i.e. /kd and /vsh/module and all it's contents are flagged hidden, readonly and systemfile.

yeah hellcat that's what i mean. i hope you release it soon. but could you take an other name for the elf as rflash.elf or could you make it renameable? that would be very nice.

*** UPDATE *** UPDATE *** UPDATE ***

Here it comes

1.30
==========
  • changed the path where the Pandora RFLASH.ELF looks for the original
    EBOOT.
It now looks for the EBOOT as RFLASH.DAT (simply rename it) and when
not found it looks for /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP
    .
  • added detection of TimeMachine and disabled backup/restore functions
on there, since they don't work propperly on TM.
Complete firmware restore (see below) DOES work fine and is still
    enabled on TM.
    .
  • added "slots" for the backup functions.
With those you can have multiple independant sets of backups on your
stick and use them directely without needing to rename folders.
If you DO rename the seperate backup slot folders, their new names
will correctly show up in the Flasher - so you can give them
descriptive names that tell you whats in there.
    .
  • extended the functionality of the backup/restore options.
You can now restore a complete firmware (flash0) regardless of what's
    currently installed.
The flash0 files' signcheck is removed during backup and recreated on
restore, so you can even move and flash the backed up firmware on
another PSP (as long as it is the same model, i.e. no Fat FW on a Slim
and vice versa, model is checked to match before flashing to avoid
    bricks)!
This might also come in handy for people wanting to flash firmwares
not nativly supported by Recovery Flasher, like 3.60-M33, which never
can be supported since there's no updater for it to extract it from,
but with the right backup you can install it anyway.

Also note that for restoring a complete FW you also need the target
FWs official updater to be on the memstick (RECOVERY folder or
memstick root) as some updater modules are required for initializing
    the flash!
(for 3.60 use the 3.52 updater.)

*** UPDATE *** UPDATE *** UPDATE ***

Enjoy!
(first post has been updated with new download )

Question IDStorage!!!!!!

I have a question for you all. My (phat) psp TA-81 motherboard has problem that after started the game the analog stick and direction pad start by itself and make the charater in the game moving all directions, or after I started internet browser the arrow move constantly and because of that I can control the game or interner at all. So, can I use IDStorage from known working Phat PSP and restore its IDStorage onto this psp?, thanks you for all of your help out there.

Sounds like you have an analog problem, not an IDStorage.

don't use another IDStorage from another PSP.
Try using dcv7 but it sounds like a hardware problem.

Thats what DCv7 does, it replaces your old idstorage keys with ones people have sent to DAX the keys they have cover all board revisions and types of psp from japan, USA and europe.

@niko86: It's true that it's the IDStorage from other PSPs (prolly mine is included ) but the IDStorage dumps sent should be complete and unpatched.

Pardon for being ignorant, just want to sure before i upgrade my fat PSP on 3.40 OE.

Am I right that I can use Hellcat's Flash Recovery to upgrade my fat PSP on 3.40 OE to 4.01 M33-2? Without the need to go 4.01 M33 1st then 4.01 M33-2?

So this util is not just a Recovery tool but also an Upgrade tool, right?

A bit confused with so many tools available and not sure which way to go.

thanks in advance.
