I don't get it..
Well, it didn't for me, on 4.01 m33.

I think the reason it must brick on 5.00 m33, is because there are probably firmware specific files in flash1, so if you do not format it, and use this to move to another firmware, it seems to corrupt flash1...

This is just my best guess.
HellCat will be able to say for sure, when he checks this thread again.

Yap, keeping old settings w/o migrating them may cause the FW to see them as corrupt, and the BSOD is long known to kill CFW PSPs on certain occasions....

That option is mainly intended if flashing same FW again to recover some messup....

Anyway, here's another
** UPDATE ** UPDATE ** UPDATE **
  • Added native support for installing a fresh 5.00-M33
  • Added option to cache the special modules from all updater .PBP currently on your memstick.
    The modules are saved seperately and - if present - used directly instead of extracting them from the required updater (again) when performing a restore of a backup.
    This way you can save space on the memstick by deleting the updater .PBPs if you don't need them otherwise.

First post has been updated.

Thought so. Maybe you should consider forcing the user to format flash1 if migrating to another firmware; to avoid bricks.

Thanks again for this awesome program hellcat

"Install the 1.50 kernel for phat" option. Useful for people using your app.

If we reinstall a backup (which had 1.50 kernel when it was backed up), the 1.50 kernel would be no more.

so the above option would be nice.

If you have 3.71-M33 running on your PS again, d/l 1.40, that one can flash a 5.00-M33 as well.

If you need the Pandora version, put it into /ELF on your MS and launch it via jas0nuks ElfMenu.

@Hellcat

Would it be possible for you to update your app to include 5.00 M33-2 please?

Wha? There's 5.00-2 already?

Totally missed that, shouldn't work that much :-/

Anyway, consider it done

// EDIT
Since 5.00-3 doesn't seem to be far away, I might wait for that one

As promised:

UPDATE ** UPDATE ** UPDATE ** UPDATE
  • Updated flashing of 5.00-M33 to 5.00-M33-3
  • Fixed backing up of CFWs with the 1.50 AddOn installed. Those backups have been incomplete (the 1.50 kernel wasn't included in the backup), now everything is propperly backed up.
  • Fixed a bug when the program got a bit confusored when stumbling over a 150.PBP while caching the updater modules (150.PBP is now skipped, there are no modules to extract in there anyway)
  • Added a warning about not resetting/formating flash1 when flashing a different FW than currently installed (keeping flash1 by flashing a different FW version can cause confusion for the new FW)

Do I even need it? I assumed it had something to do with the added feature of re-flashing a CFW along with the 1.50 add-on, but I didn't see anything about it in the read-me.

No, you don't need the 1.50 folder, that's only when running an OFW 1.50 on a Classic(Fat) PSP - the "normal" build doesn't work on 1.50, so that's what the version in that folder is for

Thanks man. I assumed it had something to do with the added 1.50kernel patch support for re-flashes... I guess I'll delete it!

Thanks again Hellcat, and props for this awesome app.

Hi. I'm new to this PSP hack thing and I need some help. I have a Fat PSP, 1.50 version, IC6001 MotherBoard and Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo 1GB. What I must do, step-by-step, to upgrade to 5.00M33-3? (in that version I can play all of downloaded PSP ISO's, right?). Thankful.

Hey

I'm currently writing down the ToDo list for the next version.
So, if you've got any feature suggestions, NOW would be the time to talk 'bout them

How about an option to Verify that the Firmware flash files was correctly flashed onto the PSP. Make this optional. Also, maybe a server that can download the eboots through wifi to save you trouble.

@Hellcat

Since you're requiring the official Eboot files for your program, why not also add an option to install the official firmwares?

Thats about all I could suggest...

That's easy! Just copy the files to your GAME folder and start the app. Then choose 5.00M33-3! And then wait and it's done!
