Lol, welcome to my world. Imagine coming back out of the blue from devhook days to a damn full blown custom firmware this and that. Remember the good ol' days when you could make something display text on the screen and it was like THE plugin? Then of course fiddling with this and that to make devhook work..boy that was fun...the good days. Now it's like a fancy dancy flasher with big obvious SCE letters, rather than debug, that pretty much state the readme in the thing.

This is probably one of the most useful programs on the PSP (if you use CFW, of course
).The only thing I wish would be implemented is more info for backups, such as: FW you were using, and date created. Other than that, this is the perfect recovery app. |

Just use the version from the "FW1.50" folder from the downloaded archive and you can flash 1.50 straight to 3.71 and above ![]() Original FW? Hmm.... Just use the Sony Updater ![]() Most likely ![]() Quote:

Yep, you can use this to d/g to (almost) w/e you want
![]() New release get's delayed a bit as I found out about an important safety check I need/want to put in before the new release. Apart from that I already changed the autonaming of backups to include PSP Type, FW and date. Another neat feature (IMO) is that RF now supports additional "Firmware Packs", that contain information on how to install (C)FWs it does not (yet) know natively. This will eliminate the need for a new release everytime the (C)FW gets updated, as I just need to pack up such a FW-Pack and RF will then be able to install the new (C)FW ![]() (you will still need the Sony updater for the target FW, those packs only contain info and some data to tell RF what to do with it )

It was released around September 2007 but it should have a pretty high compatibility with homebrew. (On second thought, it doesn't matter when it was released! )eLoader 1.000 IPA @Hellcat, Checksum calculation of the provided EBOOT.PBP's would be good, but I assume that you are adding it now. ![]() -Light_AleX Last edited by Light_AleX; 02-12-2009 at 12:58 AM.. |

**SOLVED - READ END OF POST FOR UPDATE**
![]() I have been out of the homebrew scene since it pretty much started; I'm so lost >.> I am getting errors when trying to update my phat psp 1.5 to new 5.00 m33 (4 i think? whatever 1.5 hellcat uses) I have tried two different places to download 500.PBP and both do not work. I purchased this PSP near launch and have run homebrew on it and devhook prior but never upgraded the firmware ever. I am using an original PSP US 1001 firmware version 1.50 with a psp formatted memory stick(yellow sandisk gamer 1gb) Yes, I copied RECOVERY folder into PSP/GAME Yes, I copied 500.PBP into RECOVERY folder Yes, I copied %__SCE__rflash and __SCE__rflash into PSP/GAME Yes, I am running legacy 1.50 mode HELLCAT's CFW Recovery Flasher(1.5) from the XMB on a 100% normal battery with my a/c adaptor plugged in. Installing firmware - PSP model: Classic "FAT" PSP Updater used to extract FW: 500.PBP Unassigning flashs... flash2: wasn't assigned - that's OK flash3: wasn't assigned - that's OK Extracting special updater .PRX.... ERROR OPENING 500.PBP! ABORTING!!! No harm has been done! Press any button.... If i try 3.71(yes, with 371.PBP in RECOVERY folder) I get ... FATAL : Error 0x80020321 while unassigning flash0: WARNING : ERROR 0x80020321 while unassigning flash1: * disabling settings format, clearing registry! flash2 wasn't assinged - that's OK flash3 wasn't assinged - that's OK Extracting special updater .prx.... I tried searching and google but no solutions and just the error in other apps. Help me Hellcat! ^_^ p.s. The 500.PBP doesn't need to be in another location for the 1.5 OFW users does it? ![]() **SOLUTION - At first I thought I might have had a bad memstick and used a 2gb sony memstick duo I had laying around but had the same problems so I meddled around and found out that... The Official Sony Updater PBP file needs to be in the root directory of the memstick for ofw 1.5 users with this new 1.5 recovery flasher!! Please let your users know in the readme or edit program =) - SOLUTION** Last edited by jupitersj; 02-23-2009 at 10:57 PM.. Reason: solution for those with this problem |

Hellcat, I could not get the normal, CFW 3.XX+ Kernel, version to work correctly on my PSP. It said something to the effect of not being able to reload or reinitialize the decryption modules. I have tried putting the update eboots in the recovery folder, in the root and both at the same time; I have also tried loading the modules into cache, but that too failed. I wasn't about to give up so I tried the version made for 1.50, and it worked without any complaints. I have a Classic PSP-1001 series PSP that was on 5.02 GEN-A with the 1.50 add-on installed sporting a TA-81 motherboard. I was trying to downgrade (or upgrade, depending on how you look at it) to 5.00 m33. I only had the 1.50 eboot and the 5.00 eboot on my PSP. I hope all of this info helps you out!
Aside from that, I would like to request that we have the ability, through your program, to upgrade to ANY firmware and to any update (m33-x updates, not firmwares) directly. You may want to put such options under the Advanced Users portion of your wonderful program. My idea on how to make this work is have the user put the appropriate PSAR dumper (or build them all in yourself, only if you're feeling nice), the update and the firmware eboot(s) in a specific folder. You may need to have them supply a configuration file so the Recovery Flasher knows which eboot is what. PS: I love your program and thank you for creating it. */ Edited to make clear that I meant the 3.XX Kernel not firmware */

If you're not above 5.03 and your PSP is CFW capable, you can run RF via ChickHEN and install CFW - but only if the PSP really is flashable!
