Hi guys
i've been able to manage many updates to my Lua Coded RTS game. There's no link for dl, i'm still working on it.This is just to inform, and collect cool ideas.. I want you please to understand that i'm not trying to make a great RTS game such as Age of Empires, but something really interesting and original.Many developers on this forum are able to code such an Homebrew, even better...Altair did (RedaLua)..this time age of nations increases the work.. New features: * The Player has ressources to manage: Food, Wood, Gold. * Possibility to create new units: Each units created requires a certain quantity of food, which reduce food ressources. * Each units created is independant from others.It has its own health, his own job, and many other things. * The Population Limit is fixed to 20 units. * Each unit can look for food, look for wood on a map, to increase the player 's ressources.Just give him the order. * All natural ressources such as wood and fruits are limited.When all fruits were taken on a tree, it disappears from the map. * Player can now order to unit buiding houses. * Player can order units to collect gold * Many others features are being coded.Just come back sometimes to be informed, and see new screenshots of the game. And screenshots: A map and a Towncenter ![]() Displaying TownCenter Info ![]() 9 units were created.Each requires food ressources ![]() 3 units are working on different tasks. ![]() The second unit has started building a House ![]() The unit has finished building the new house ![]() A unit is looking for gold ![]() A unit is mining for gold, while the other is collecting food ![]() The demo release is for soon, with new features. Buildings are more like imperial age and the cursor looks like it got into a car wreck. But, who cares about graphics. It's a good start and if you don't get stuck on any of the mechanics in making it into a game (pathfinding, big maps, good tile engine, AI, attacking, etc) it could turn out to be a great game.

well thus far you've been proving me wrong=-), continue onward, i'll accept it as a true rts once you appear to have a working ai, and you show that the map can move around, after that.....well i'll probably play it=-)

Updtate, guys!
Player can order units to build houses Player can order units to build barracks Player can create soldiers using barracks I'll release it tomorrow i think.but for now, i'll send it to mraellis and TurTlesPwn (a.k.a. T.P. o_O) for bêta trial first. this looks really cool...im working on something verry similar but space themed :P
if your maps are scrolling maps then i think it would look cool if u added a radar to show were stuff is..

You select the Player and thus select the tower building icon.See what this requires as ressources. ![]() the tower building is ended.Now units proceed to other tasks. ![]() See the current tower skills
