Hi guys,
——————- Age of nations v2 Demo Release Code: SeanPaul223 Graphics: Pierrodu50 ——————– ![]() -------------- what's this ? --------------- Age of nations is a Lua coded RTS Homebrew,based on AOE PC game. It still has basic features. ------------------------- New Updates and features ------------------------- [General] Code rewrite Entirely New Graphics Added tables management system for units and building Added timers for animations Added walking animations for units Map scroll removed.Will be added soon. [Gameplay] Player has ressources to manage: Food, gold, wood. Possibility to create new units: Each units created requires a certain quantity of food, which reduce food ressources. Each units created is independant from others.It has its own health, his own job, and many other things. The Population Limit is fixed to 20 units. Each unit can look for food, look for wood on a map, to increase the player ’s ressources.Just give him the order. All natural ressources such as wood and fruits are limited.When there's no more ressources on a tree, it disappears from the map. [Units] Four types of units can be created: *Peasants: they're dealing with the natural ressources and building tasks *Soldiers *Archers *Riders Note: Ai haven't been coded so military type units has no tasks. [Building] Peasants can build Houses. Peasants can build Barracks.These builds are used to make military units. Peasants can build Towers. --------- Commands --------- Directional Pad/Joystick to move the selector on the screen Cross to select a unit/building/ressource.when selected its current properties appears on he board. Circle to deselect anything selected Select opens A System Menu, with exitting options [How to Collect ressources:] Select a Peasant unit.Thus click on any pont on the map to move him.Simply click on a ressource to order him collecting this. [Knowbugs] Sometimes the unit reaches the waypoint and stands up.Select him again to ask him doing the task. [How to build] Select a peasant unit.Click with cross button over the buiding type you want, according to reamaining ressources you have. Thus click with triangle button on the map where you want the house to be built. [Knowbugs]SomeTimes buiding tasks don't work on PSP.But it works with LuaPlayerWindows on PC.I'll try fixing it later. ------------- Installation: ------------- The game is Fat and Slim compatible. Copy the RTS folder and its contents on your MS into ms0:/PSP/GAME/ folder. I've already started working on a new Update, in other to fix bugs..Notice that i've restarted from zero... What have been done yet.. Scrolling Feature included..the map is now larger..and it means more possibilities.. The map size is now 960*544.You can browse the map. Also the Selector pic was changed..But who cares ? ![]() Have a look ![]() Don't care to the four values displayed on the left top of the screen..just variables for tests.. bunch of code waits me.. |

New Shots.Just to let u have an idea of the great quantity of ressources available since the map size was icreased...
![]() ![]() ![]() Now dealing with the TownCenter and the units creation/moving animation.. -=Double Post Merge =- New Progress On the code. Summarizing: The Scrolling feature has been added.you can now explore a huge map size.Works fine. Added Units creation with TownCenter.Units appears near the towncenter. Walking animation completed.Work fine. Bug fixed: When you asserts a destination to a unit, even if he reaches the point, he's still walking.Now Fixed. Other bug fixed: Units will not move if you clicks on the board. New screenshot: See all units can explore the map.

INfo...Like some of you said, i'm goind fast sometimes..too fast that i forget importants facts..
i've got a genius idea..And it obliges me to restart from the start. The fact is that the code will be simplified at shortened, good for the RAM.. More infos if i succeed in write in code the idea i got. And just to inform..the following release will have AI and fight scenes..i've the way to code it also. Maybe i'll have questions in the Lua Help Thread... |

Thought you might like to know these probs:
When I try to command the guys to build a building by clicking the icon for what I want them to build they will build it where the button is, right under the black bar. Also if you command multiple people to do the same thing, they go to the exact same spot so that from then on you have to command all of them at once. And that slows the game down a good little bit. You may want to speed up the cpu to maybe 300mhz or so. |
