Default [Article] Mock Game Programmer Test, Programming book list and Online articles

Mock games programmer test - This shows a rough idea on the minimum expectation for a games programmer test at a studio. A pretty decent yard stick to measure your own ability against.

Book list - A listing of programming books to read. Code Complete comes high on the list to read for any programmer.

Online article list - Another listing of online articles and resources for programming. The Object Mentor ones are a good read.

Thanks for this Yaustar, I've been wondering what exactly you would find on some of these tests

I can answer 10 out of the 17 confidently, then 5 more not so confident and then 2 i'd guess or just wing it. I don't want to spend 2-3 hours doing it though

To those who have taken this test I want to see the reply from the guy as atleast some proof.

EDIT

I see Turtles has already commented on it :P

Thanks, Yaustar, for the superb articles and collection of online articles specifically(though I do like books more but you'll see why I say thank you for online articles in a moment). I particularly loved the link to the 40-Hour-RPG article. That completely gave me a new perspective on game development and how I have been managing my own time programming. You chose some superb articles and books. I'll definitely be using this as my guide for advancing my knowledge for a while.

Nice questions... made me brush up on my const correctness to answer the 4th question. The others were mostly easy, few with a little thought.
