Default [RELEASE] Slim Waves Patch

This version is outdated, a new version can be found here.

Two simple plugins I wrapped together in 15 minutes (finding the waves-specific model check takes some time).

Instructions:
- Obtain 13-27.bmp and flash it to flash0:/vsh/resource
- Copy one of the plugins to seplugins and enable in vsh.

Waves version will just make the 13-27.bmp (Slim) waves show up, providing you flashed the waves.

Full version will patch the model to Slim for all vsh modules (no Slim hardware-related code will be executed), Slim waves will show up, Skype will show up, UMD cache option will show up, and all other Slim-related stuff. Keep in mind none of these things will work, except the waves, but it might be helpfull to test themes.
Note: This version is solely for testing purposes and might have side-effects, instead, use the waves-only version.

They can be enabled together but it has no point. Source is included in the 'src' directory.

Yes, they are, you just need to flash 13-27.bmp and enable slim_waves.prx
It's for 4.01 M33, and will most likely need an update next firmware (unless it has very high similarities with 4.01), which I'll try to take care of as soon as a new custom firmware is released

Nope. You best update to 4.01 anyway. 3.90 is going out.

Not at the moment, if a lot of people are interested in it I might release an update which supports both 3.90 and 4.01

Just use the waves-only version, the full version might have other side-effects. Or are you talking about the waves-only version which has the issues? The full version is experimental, I could start applying hard-coded patches to the video player etc. to prevent this error, but the full version isn't for normal use anyways, solely for testing themes (eg. checking if an icon shows up).

Edit: Modified the readme to be more clear about this matter.

This looks awesome. Just a question though, will this mess up the way CXMB functions?

At first I thought the actual wave was different and I looked at my Slim's XMB carefully LOL.

Well, the full version patches the function to get the model info, while the waves only well, it makes it return 1 (Slim) when loading the theme menu. So basically, if you are only using it for the Wave colour, then use the Slim Waves version.

I have done everything the way it was said in the readme and for some reason I cant get this to work. The plugin doesn't show up in the M33 recovery menu. In the readme it says to "flash" it, i assume that by this he means simply copying it over. Any help would be appreciated thanks!
