[RELEASE] StarSlalom (JetSlalom Clone)
Another one of my semi-old projects (Not quite as polished as my last release)

This is an unofficial clone of JetSlalom by MR-C for the PSP. (With a StarFox twist)
Play the original here: ww2.freearcade.com/Jetslalom.jav/Jetslalom.html
This release uses no code or resources from the original game.
Shots:

Video:
Install:
Copy the StarSlalom folder to PSP/GAME or PSP/GAME150 on your PSP.
Notes:
- Since this still uses the old luaplayer 0.16 for speed, it requires the 1.5 kernel. If you want, you could try running it with a modded luaplayer, but it might not run full-speed.
- The code is a bit weirdly designed, I don't really know what I was thinking at the time.
- You can use whatever you want from the code for whatever you want, but I would appreciate you not bytecoding it and giving me a shout as to what it will be used for.
Credits:
- "Brędy (Blood Drip)" for Arwing 3D model (http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehou...bb33592cef0aea)
- "Greatfox" for background music (http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Theater/1870/)
- PSProgrammer for logo graphic help (Even though I eventually didn't go with his images)
- Merick for Gu Image Blitting code
- The developer/s of luaplayer 0.16 (Shine and Nevyn)

Nice, that really makes me feel like back in StarFox :)
Just the collisions seem to not quite match the visuals, but the ship model and music sure add a lot to the game. Better than the "original" ;)Raphs board rules #31: Excessive use of punctuation is either a sign of a lesser ego or a small mind. Avoid it if you don't want to look like a total moron.
Raphs board rules #17: When you need to ask whether you are capable of doing something, you are not.
Raphs board rules #2: Exploits aren't found by changing version numbers, blindly merging data into a file or turning your PSP upside down.
Raphs board rules #1: If you have no clue how exploits work, don't come up with ideas about them.

After playing for almost 2 Hours, there is only 2 things that would make it even better:
1-Collisions like Raphael said.
2-Online High Score Leader Board.
Overall one of the Best Homebrew in since Stacker.
I also found a way to play that makes its a bit harder and more Motion Sensor feel. You just place you hands over you PSP and wrap you fingers around the top/Trigger. By moving your hands like a PS3 motion SixAxis you will be pressing on L & R making it feel like you have Motion Sensor... well sortoff.

You should also write a simple algorithm for when making boxes that it tries to trap you and makes the game more challenging than just random placement

It stays around 55-60, though that's low enough for me to have to have disabled vblanks. (So there's a bit of tearing)
The main problem was getting it running at that speed and still having enough "juice" left for the music to be smooth.
Yeah the collision is a bit half-arsed due to lazyness and lack of CPU power.

Nielkie- Today I was playing a school & got 4883 my best score right now. I also got a little bug, It only happen once but in Level 4 the walls stayed straight all the way till level 5 absolutly no Right or Left turns.
--EDIT--
wicked_fable- The Fourth Level is Programmed to make 2 Huge lines on each side of you and force you to do hard right and hard left turns.Last edited by ZereoX; 09-11-2008 at 04:19 PM.

Hmm, sounds more like luck to me than a bug. I once just started a new game and press left and I stayed alive until the second level.
