Default [RELEASE] IPL Utility 0.3

Yesterdays release was really buggy and I wasn't actually considering releasing an update so quickly but I managed to fix the bugs in 0.2 and added some of the features of Rain's IPL & Memory Stick Tool. There are still 2 bugs which I have found so far which I have been able to fix (these are outlined in the readme).

In the next release I'll hopefully add a few more features from Rain's IPL & Memory Stick Tool. And if any one has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. I tried sort of explaining a bit about the IPL in the readme in 0.2 and I hope it helps those who did not understand.

The application now has 2 methods of dumping the IPL (still no automatic size detection unfortunately). These methods are:
1. Reading in blocks of 4KB and if the block is blank it stops (this was not compatible with the Classic Pandora IPL).
2. Using built-in definitions (currently 6 definitions) however z3ros0ul Single IPL (Sleep Fix) will not be detected all the time as the size of this IPL is smaller than the sample taken from the Memory Stick (4KB).

The latest version can be downloaded from here.

As he said im working on an app at this time that does alot more than just dump the ipl, but i do have a way to determine the end of the IPL data, or u can always measure the ipl section space and then dump the entire space if u needed to.

As far as the pro's go, i hear cory just uses dd to dump his manually lol.

An old beta shot of my new app

Thanks for not chewing me up about releasing this app, I was worried about releasing an app to dump the IPL which is a great function of your program.

Eh? winhex is my choice - it can zero raw sectors in a visual fashion so it's simpler to tell what data changed when a new IPL is written. I've only ever used dd to dump windows bootsectors

I haven't personally tried dumping the PSP Action Replay IPL as I do not own the product. However I have used it to dump the TM IPL successfully and it worked. The only reasons I cannot see this dumping the PSP Action Replay IPL are:

1. The IPL is larger than the size of the data dumped.
2. The memory stick is formatted different.
3. I'm not sure if this is possible but maybe Datel have 2 IPLs hidden away one beginning at sector 16 which loads the other one at another address.

I shouldn't have assumed that this can dump the PSP Action Replay IPL but I know it would be nice having a Memory Stick larger than 1GB with Action Replay on it and it is unlikely that it cannot be dumped with this application.

OOPS my bad, took a guess when you said u dumped yours urself from DCv6. Suprised all these people actually use winhex lol. For the record ThievingSix couldnt come up with a way to find the last block like u suggested. based on your information i dont see how its done without an actual PSP doing the pull, seeing as how the header's dont match on encrypted blocks? and u cant decrypt them with a pc?

Rain3g u have aim yahoo or msn? Wanted to talk to u about the problems u were having.
