Default [WIP] Unamed RPG (QJ Release 2)

This is the second version I am releasing here.
I have made some major changes and it works way better than my last QJ release.

Spoiler for the README:

This is my second release for QJ and all the other big news sites.
It is alot different and performs much better than my first release.

-----About this release-----

*I am still using temporary sprites, so forgive the horrible looking NPC in the building.

*The only thing in the menu that does not do anything is "Enable Extras".

*If you enable USB mode you can not disable it.



--New--
Tile Map (Tile map collisions still don't work)

You can go into the building by walking to the door and pressing "X".

Menu added with several functions

Works way better than previous release

Sleep mode now works without crashing and needing to be restarted

SAVE SUPPORT ADDED!!!! (It remembers where you were and that is pretty much it)


-To Do-
Tile map collisions

More maps

Small issues in the game (Like having to hold "X" to read the NPC message

Ignore the 1's that are at the top of the screens. I have removed that from the release.

Tilemaps? From the screens, it looks like you have tile maps.
Though for your issue, (holding X to talk to NPCs). You could Have a Boolean to see if your pressing x.
something like this
Code:
 if X is pressed and not Display text then
Boolean = true
end
 if Boolean then Display text = true
elseif O (or watever you use to cancel the display) and Display text then
Display text = false
end

I have tile maps, but my collisions always cause my game to crash. I am working on the collisions now. I am not to worried about the NPC message at the moment. I will get to it later. Thanks for you input tho.

I say why did you release it soo soon. I want to see more progress. Maybe if the collision was done, the real sprites were added, a story was built, or even the sprites alone would be better viewed. I'm happy to see progress, but I would like a real release next time. Don't take this wrong, but WIP would fit this better. The name Release makes it seem like it's a FULL homebrew. Maybe in April you should show us how it progressed. Can't wait till the next one.

OK, lets pause and use our brains for about 5 seconds. I know, this is something that is rarely done around here, but please do it for my sake.

So you upload a RPG "release" (I won't even go there). Then, you get collisions working within ten minutes of this "release". If it was really that simple to get them implemented, why on Earth would you not implement them BEFORE the upload?

Seriously, people need to stop making half-assed releases.

I suppose you are one of them people that just do not take a hint no matter what. You continue to release crap after crap and then say rubbish like you implemented collisions a mere ten minutes after upload and yet you have not uploaded this version? I think maybe it is because you cannot code for s*it and you just fake your way through anything. You may have done it basically by now but it is probably still crap and even that no doubt is probably just someone else's work.

God even Hardrive said you shouldn't release it..
Please grow a brain and leave this place..

On a different note, your famous in a way. You can blame me for that as i browsed Qj at college when i looked at that crap thread you made like just over a month or so ago. When i replied it became a class joke, they rib me for being "evil" and harsh lol and if something gets my blessing then it must be good. And you... well put it this way.. when someone makes a mistake we call them Cory... Lol..

You are just an insecure person that hopes no new person somehow comes up in the world and could becme better than you if they put there heart into it. I never asked you to rate my game. I hate people who are jerks like you are being. In your mind you may be number 1, but this is the real world. So be constructive or shutup. I more people would stand up to you instead of blindly following. Well im getting tired of you dissing corytheidiot1 all im sayin is ive never seen any homebrew with your name on it so i say you post something or atleast even try to make something before you go and diss him because hes trying his hardest

i like the concept but you couldve waited till you were atleast 50% done with it before posting it thats a waste of a thread but i say comeback when you get more stable and playable game.

PSProgrammer did the exact same thing you are. Fighting back is a waste of time. Don't release every update and wait until you have something worthwhile. I did the same thing when I started, "Im making an Unnamed RPG Its gonna be great!!! I can move my guy so far *Release*" If you keep doing that you will just get flamed for being an idiot. Im not the best example but I took everyones advice and quit. Now I have 3 not so successful games under my belt LOL. But the point is im always learning. By starting small and working up you will find yourself completing projects and you will slowly gain respect. Listen to me I know what im talking about.

How do u go from a WIP to a release if your release isn't much of an improvement??? In-fact, you haven't done hardly anything for this to be a release. You should have learned from your last WIP release how QJ is.

You made this post a while ago and you haven't proven it. Both you username and this rpg's name describe your skills alone. And the fact that it's in Lua makes it only bad on your part. I suggest as I said earlier you put some time into this!!! I don't like how some people here make people here feel bad about their homebrews, but I just had to reply to this. Start SMALL like xXChromeXx. I believe he was working on a rpg, but quickly stopped and worked on smaller things and practiced. Work up to this. The time you spend learning will help this rpg out. Take this advise or leave it. Either way, you will learn something.

I don't mean to make people feel bad M33, but i feel that being harsh is the best way to achieve something and to get someone to actually listen.

After they have calmed down.. of course.
