Audio Mechanica V8d with Source Code

    Hi Guys,
Here is the Audio Mechanica V8d release with support all three possible
    PSP microphone arrangements.
On screen keyboard for file naming, RAM buffered recording option, and improved GUI.

V8d adds Peb's improved OSK lib that will display the language your PSP is set to.
It also checks for the PSP /Music directory in case your MS was formatted with old firmware.

I've also decided to give up the source this time.

    Screenshots

... and here's a cool animated gif of the wave monitor!

Please read the documentation for a full explanation of features.
I have had lots of trouble trying to implement an in-program playback mode,
so it's still left out for now. maybe I'll have better luck with it in future.
    Cheers, Art.

sweet I was just thinking about this app the other day and wishing I could use the psp cam mic. Thanks man. You are always up to something good for the psp.

any chance you know anyone with a custom prx that reroutes the cams functions to the psp2000's remote dongle?

One of the screenshot plugins hosted in QJ's download section.
I was searching for one to screenshot the OSK for this program because
the in program screenshot function couldn't do it.

    Default Usb mic

This got me thinking. Is is any way that some one could make a plugin that allows you to use a usb headset (ie. the ones made for phones like the razr) instead of the regular one. Because that one cost about $30, its crazy.

Now I know I really need to go find another headset (or import a camera). This is looking too sweet to not take advantage of.

Not AFAIK, for the same reason the PSP can't use USB hard drives, web cams, or anything else... because it's not a USB host.
Now I know I really need to go find another headset (or import a camera).
I picked up another Talkman for $29 AU yesterday secondhand (and another PSP console too :) ).
The camera is a better option for other stuff though. The videos you can make with the
PSP firmware are suprisingly good quality.

Progress so far on V8c is the ability to return to the mode menu which I think now works ok.
I don't think there's a need to return to the hardware selection menu, as it's very
unlikely someone will want to use different microphone hardware in the same program session.

As far as I'm aware that's right. I think USB on the go requires additional hardware.
I'm not a USB expert though.

At the very least it would have to power the device through the conventional connector.

Has the folder "ms0:/MUSIC/Audio Mechanica" been created on your Memory Stick when you exit the app?
If you have your MUSIC folder inside your PSP folder, you will have to create one at MS root.

Otherwise I can't think of a solution. The error occurs if the file cannot be created.

You might as well use ms0:/MUSIC for all music.
ms0:/PSP/MUSIC is an artifact of older firmware versions.

The only reason I can think of there is low RAM due to a lot of plugins being run.
The program consumes a lot of RAM for the recording buffer, but I did leave 2Mb
short of what my PSP used for people's plugins to run.

If you have some running, try disabling them. Short of that I have no clue, and haven't heard of this problem.

I'd be interested to know what type of PSP and firmware you have, and how much free RAM the program reports
you have free when you press triangle at the very first title screen
(don't get excited, this amount is before the 14Mb recording buffer is allocated).

Alright, I have a phat PSP running 5.0M33-3.
I do have a lot of plugins running; I'll disable them and see what happens.

    :EDIT:
I disabled all my plugins and it worked.
I found out that running RemoteJoyLite.prx under GAME causes the error since that prx looks for a connected USB upon starting a game. I re-enabled my previous plugins except RemoteJoyLite and it's working now. =)

    Thanks
