Default UMD_Operator v0.0.2

Spoiler for Readme:
-----------------
What this is:
-----------------

This is a useful application for your psp. You can rip your umd to the root of your memory stick,
you can start a umd or iso or even check the size of your umd. In this new update you can do more. For that see Changelog

-----------------
Changelog
-----------------

* Added Credits Screen
* Get UMD Size bug fixed
* PSP's name is now displayed as: 'Welcome (Name Of Your PSP)
* Your PSP's Firmware is shown
* You can activate usb
* ISO are ripped directly to ISO folder now
* You can rip UMD Movie's directly to ISO/VIDEO folder
* Battery's life percent is shown at the right top of the screen

-----------------
Note's
-----------------

* If you want to use ISO options you must set UMD ISO MODE to Sony NP9660. You can do
that in recovery menu or in vsh menu.
* If you want to use to Start ISO function you must put the iso in: ("ms0:/ISO/game.iso"

Last time I posted an app like this it was taken strait off by QJ, interested in the change of stance by QJ.

If this is now allowed I will bring back "Backup"

... All the latest m33 firmwares (since long ago) has an option to set USB mode to UMD. That's how easy it is to rip.

There are far better programs out there. And quicker ones too. Because they arent a one line script in Lua.

Well at least your honest, The app you made and released will only get negative replies becouse of the nature of the app. Its good to learn but use it as just that a learning tool. Typicaly pixel fixers, umd rippers, and button testers are not generally exepted very well. There are exeptions to the rules but lets face it yours is no exeption.

Look, Why do people say that! 'Because i've learnt/know C++ i can make better Homebrew, No!!' Yes its more powerful & it gives you more access than Lua. But you can make good things in Lua.

Note to everyone: Lets not have a huge reply of arguements saying C++ is better, we all know it is. Saying because you know C++ you can make BETTER things is wrong. Thats the point i'm making. It all depends on Talent/Skill/Knowlegde of your language.

Professional/Hobby shouldn't determine your standard/skill either, Though being professional you would be good But theres alot of developer that have made good quality games/apps maybe not professional standard but you get the point.

if your not looking for arguements on what language is better then why bring it up. All he's stating is that hes not going to be able to make apps like emulator's and stuff in lua.

another app thats gonna add on to he raging piracy of the psp scene.
i think we should have made iso emulation and apps off that nature only when sony gives up on the platform that way developers wouldnt think its a lost cause

just like i dontcare if you pirate on psx dreamcast and nds<---- because it sucks
but leave the psp alone till its died off
thats what i did before pirating gba psx dreamcast and others

im not antipiracy but im anti-notmakinggamesiny.

It wasn't stating a argument between languages. I was refering to him saying you could just because you know C++ you can make better homebrew, not true. He never said anything about Luaplayer being restrictive. He needs to grasp the basics, before moving on really. Lua is a good start i'd say.

dan what are you smoking really read over that and then ask yourself if it actually makes sense and is in propper english grammar, but i kinda understood what you meant, leave the lua vs c++ argument its a matter opinion.

Personally, I don't understand what people don't like about this app. He had a useful idea and brought it to life, who cares if it was easy to make. Maybe I'm just stupid... and you people who disagree with me will probably have more experience than me, so I won't argue, I'm just saying...

meh you understood what i meant dont be so picky, i was commenting on the fact that dan used incorrect english. like me saying "am i going to bought a elephat" which should be "am i going to buy an elephant"

@Tdude_gamer there are already a million plus one of these things plus there was already one coded in C/C++ cant remember the name that could rip directly to cso on your memory stick, had progress shown and you could play pong while it was doing it.

There are similar apps that do all this and more with nice graphics and better functionality.
Given that is the case, I don't see a reason to release another one so plain,
and written with a few lines of LUA.
Fine if you want to prove to yourself you can make it for what little credit it's worth, but it doesn't prove much releasing it.

Don't understand what all the fuss is..?
This and UMD Dumper is great for when I wanna rip OTG, and doesn't make me start up another app that does a bazillion other things for this simple purpose. Personally I have no LUA/C++ coding experience so I can't say which App is the fastest out there (suggestion for even faster way to rip?). But it does work nicely when I quickly rip a friends game, or when I'm bored and go for a visit to the public library and rip some UMD's there OTG

You could just use one of the hundreds of other programs that rip umds, most of which have more features and are more user friendly.

I can't rip movies with this one. I have tried three region 2 movies and the program just wants me to insert UMD in. However I can watch them normally with my PSP-1004 5.00 M33-3 (SonyNP driver). Can someone confirm one can really rip movies with this program.

PSP Filer will rip your UMD to ISO very simply; While a lesser known shell, Xplora (at least version 1.8), will rip your UMD to ISO, CSO, or DAX with the ability to change the compression level (1-9, only for CSO and DAX formats).

Aside from that, congratulations on creating a working PSP app, malliet.

When I use this homebrew I notice that the battery's life percent drains my PSP drains a TINY bit quicker than it would with playing legal games.

1) Playing games off of the memory stick will preserve battery life and not drain it faster - this application should have no such affect.
2) This thread was unnoticed by our staff when it was created (we were preoccupied) and has just grabbed the attention of myself.

I'm removing the download link and closing this thread. We appreciate your effort in creating homebrew applications but our piracy policy is strict. If your app only ripped UMDs (which we were on the fence before with several other releases) we might've allowed it. However since it also allows you to "start" the ISO we must remove it, sorry. (it's complicated...)
