Talking [UPDATE] Hold+ v3.41 - Battery Saver Plugin

Download: http://forums.**********.net/showthread.php?t=220

Changelog v3.41
----------------------------------
Improved faulty Hold switch protection, as there were still some chances of a faulty Hold switch causing problems.

Changelog v3.4
----------------------------------
Fixed a problem caused by a faulty Hold switch in some PSPs. This made the CPU remain underclocked even after turning off the Hold switch.

The problem is the Hold switch doesn't consistently return a pressed state. It sometimes rapidly fluctuates between an Off and On signal. If this fluctuation occurs within one iteration of the main program loop, it causes problems. Its not humanly possible to toggle the Hold switch so fast, but a loose connection can :P

Torch, this plugin seems very practical, and I intend to use it. And I also have an idea: it is really annoying to start listening to music: I have to put the remote and headphones, turn on the PSP, put the cursor in the music menu, start music, turn off screen and put PSP on hold (and put PSP back in its case).

It would be great if just by putting hold switch on (not even turning on the PSP), and pressing play in the remote, the PSP started playing music regardless of the XMB's cursor position (ie, GAME), with the screen off and CPU in low speed.

Anyways, keep up the good work!

Cool, Torch.

IMO this is the most useful homebrew app out there. Nearly triples my battery life.

I was wondering if you could make a version where the power LED doesn't flash every 30 secs, or at least have an option to be able to turn that function on and off.

This doesn't seem to work for my psp. I'm using CFW 5.01 M33-3 with CXMB plugin. Is this because of my CFW?

There might be another plugin thats using the Syscon debug handler. Try disabling other plugins.

Allso i have 5.00m33 and i was going to try to use this plugin as a fix for the 1.50 kernel sleep mode crash bug, but it seems the 5.00m33 doesnt reconize game150.txt in seplugins... But this is a kewl plugin thanks for deving it!

Default 60mhz

one thing I've always wondered... if you're running a program that actually clocks lower than 60mhz does it clock up? For example, I run LightMP3 with the media engine on at 19mhz, but I use the hold plugin to turn the screen off and lock the buttons with one simple motion. My concern is, is the hold plugin changing my PSPs clock speed to 60mhz when I use it? If this is the case, is there a way to program the Hold plugin to run a check and only clock to 60mhz if the PSP is running at a higher clock speed?

Yes it will clock up to 60MHz. I'll add a check in the next version.

cool, thanks man, and thanks for the most used plugin on my PSP (which is saying a lot considering how many plugins I use)

Also, thanks for including instructions on how to embed it in flash0... finally got it working with IRShell and I don't have to worry about having the plugin on every memorystick I own.
