Thanks, i have confirmed the first bug, i cant believe i miss that
, i will fix it as soon as i can. But i cant confirm the second one, tested it with a PSP Fat cfw 4.01 and i can enter the setup screen with no problem, are you sure you copied all the files inside GMGearMX_1.0.zip? Maybe you changed some setting or something?

Awesome! Going to give this a try. I've heard this also saves on battery life just like LightMP3. Is this true?
I've been looking for an alternative mp3 (or ATRAC3 in my case) player that has both the option of saving on battery life and a working equalizer ![]() EDIT: Just found out that it doesn't support ATRAC3

I don't really know what I did wrong but basically (and I know its hard I've programmed for comps for a while) try to pretend that you have no idea what your doing and push buttons in different sections of the app trying to get a response and it will eventually freeze.

The last was very buggy for me unfortunately. I'm going to wait for the bugfix before grabbing this again. I really think this is one of the best homebrew apps on the PSP and I am REALLY hoping this works better this time around.
I have a PSP original, 5.00-M33-3 btw. Keep up the great work and as far as other formats I'd like to see plugins for N64 (miniusf) is on the top of the list! There are some really amazing soundtracks I'd like to listen to on the PSP. Both Zeldas, Mario Kart, 64, Golden Eye, Tetrisphere, Starfox 64, Banjo, F-Zero, Smash Bros, Killer Instinct.. and many others. PS: I now have 16GB of space to load full of great chip tunes!

I have to say that this app is awesome! Nice interface, config menu is one of the best configs i've seen on psp!
The only bad thing that i've noticed is that there is no reverb in psf playback. Is this just not implemented or is it too cpu intensive to enable? Just one other question: does psf2 playback work? I've tried playing a song from Final Fantasy X and it crashed. I havent tried any other psf2 though... Well thank you for your hard work. |

[QUOTE=Art;2138459]No luch using it here.
It won't start for me under 3.52 kernel, but does start in 1.50. Can't play any music though...[/"QUOTE] Art, i dont mean to question your knowledge, but did you try the "different" folder structures? What i mean is theres the "ms0/PSP/MUSIC" folder and then theres the "ms0/MUSIC" folder... im not sure if it will fix the problem, but i do know that some music apps are folder-specific. for example "DJSP" will only run if the music files are in one folder and not the other.. anyway, i just thought id mention it, because ive had to remind people in the past that have had the same problem.. |

eh.. us being bored is nothin to be sorry about mate.. and i know what i mentioned sounds a little insulting to someones intelligence (especially Art) but people DO still forget about little things like that..
Art you must be a mad loyallist to still be on 3.52 M33.. mind you i remember how long it took me to give in and upgrade to 3.71 M33-4.. i only did it so that explaining things to my son would be easier on his SlimPSP (same firmware)... speaking of loyallists, one of my PSPs still has 3.03 OE-C on it.. mind you its never used cos the analog nub is broken.. mainly use it as a remote for my Hifi/DVD/TV/etc at home once again its time for me to shut up wow its past 5am in OZ.. thats right people.. im a machine!

Great plugin, thanks! I've been waiting for a good music player with equalizer for my PSP, to give my SE210s some more kick.
Three major bugs I've found: 1. EQ Preamp only works on the right channel. 2. Some of my mp3s don't play, and interrupt the playlist. In the log, it reports Code -2. 3. Seeking doesn't work on mp3s. Unless I'm pressing the wrong buttons? My PSP is a Slim, and it runs on firmware 5.00 M33-3. |

About the uade plugin it is based on a very old version (1.03) of UADE so many players may not work properly or not work at all. Please read de plugins.readme to see all the necessary files and note that not all the uade supported extensions are written on the in_uade.plugin (they were so many that i only tested a few ones), the extensions must be the same found in the eagleplayer.conf file. Also you can try playing the modules with the modplug plugin but you need to change the extension to a prefix one. Like changing med.boss to boss.med. And finally you can always look at the gmgear log file to see wich plugin was trying to play that song. Quote:
. About the other two the default mp3 plugin is in_mp3, based on the pspsdk's pspmp3 library, wich for some reason doesn't support other freq than 44k. And also doesn't support seeking. You can try the in_mad plugin wich uses libmad. It works with 44k and 48k songs and has a seeking support (but seeking is a little buggy at the moment).

Oh, thanks a bunch for the tip. *tries*
Works, thanks a bunch. Feature request: any chance for an option to disable clock changing? I'd like to use the CPU Modulator plugin to do that, and it seems that the plugin currently interferes with the player's clock settings, and it makes clicking sounds. Improvement request: Spectrum-style visualizers currently use a linear frequency scale, which is unnatural and give WAAAAY too much attention to highs. Would it be possible to use a logarithmic scale instead? Bug report: in_mad can play 48kHz mp3, but it interprets them as 44.1kHz, so it plays slower, and lower-pitched. I'm not having much luck this time around either
. The only version that still works for me is the initial release from last year, but that is very limited and doesn't play my SNES RSN or Gen VGM files. Can anyone who owns an original PSP running 5.0-M33-2 with the kernel 1.5 add-on get this to play anything? I have the single folder (GMGearMX) in the GAME5.XX folder and the music files are in their own folders off that. When I start it up it just shows the menu with no folders or files, when I press a button it shuts down. ![]() Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |

Hi silmarilion!
Your player is simply awesome, I *LOVE* being able to play all my tracker mods and console chiptunes. Thanks for coding such an excellent player.Could I request something for a future release? I would really love this player to be able to stream shoutcast/icecast stations. I could then get rid of PSPRadio (which is buggy, slow, and doesn't get updated any more). Another thing is I'd love to see an AHX/HVL plugin for this player. AHX and HivelyTracker are synth-trackers; AHX was on the Amiga, and HivelyTracker is a cross-platform re-make of AHX with many more features. The replay code for AHX/HVL is available from HivelyTracker's download section. There are some nice tunes in this format and I enjoy tracking in AHX myself ![]() BTW, what was the problem with the newer UADE plugin and why did you end up choosing the older version? Keep up the excellent work on this player, it really is the best player for the PSP hands down. I'll keep testing and report any bugs I find that aren't already mentioned. PS: If you need someone with a PSP Slim and 5.00-M33 to assist with testing and bug-hunting drop me a line, I'd love to try out experimental code

About the shoutcast/icecast i don't have access to a wireless connection right now but maybe sometime in the future i'll give it a try. I have checked the source of Hively Tracker and seems quite simple, so guess i will give it a try . By the way the uade plugin already handles ahx files, i tryied some called AHX.Cruisin and sounds really nice. But you need all the required files mentioned in the plugins.readme. I you have trouble with them i can send them to you if you like. And the plugin uses an older version of uade, because it is based on a plugin wrote by Sasq, the author of oldplay.I tryied to port some newer version but it has a lot of changes, and is a little complicated to port to the psp .
