I think XMB creators could get some use out of this. Draw a line, box, etc. Then see if what was changed lines up.

It's good to see some developers are still having some original ideas / projects.
Good work Mr305.

Dude I could totally see this being used as a sort of 'John Madden' instant replay for sports or something... so you could highlight in a big yellow brush...

Hey you just dloaded it and was using in in xmb when it crashed, it crashed after drawing circles for 15 minutes in the lower left corner. I'll try again now to see if I can replicate the same thing. Nice program tho, have you thought about my idea for TD?

you spent 15 minutes drawing circles in the bottom-left corner ?? maybe you made the cursor dizzy

nice one Mr305.. this could be fun to use.. and useful too..
for "touching up" images for screenshots..
highlighting items/areas for walkthroughs..
helping theme-makers to line up icon/text positions..
drawing what looks like an ex US president (like yotonah's image)
drawing our previous Prime Minister (Australia's John Howard.. also like yotonah's image)
general "doodling" when boredom sets in...
thanks mate.. are you gonna include this somehow in the next release of TweakDisplay?
also PLEEEAASE work on some sort of "3D effect" like an anaglyph or maybe some sort of stereogram (image hidden within an image).... if you can come up with a 3D filter or effect i think you will be known worldwide in the PSP scene.. PSP Games in 3D ? THAT would definately be something to celebrate about..

Forgot, which idea?
Currently, it only holds 5000 vertices, after that, it'll overflow the user mem, first you'll see artifacts then it'll crash
-=Double Post Merge =-
I can't guarantee if this will be included in upcoming TD, it consume a lot of mem.
3D (AKA Red-Blu) isn't possible, how can we know which ones to make blue and which ones red?
However 3D Effects are perfectly possible

Seeing this has given me the crazy idea of painting Project4 ontop of the XMB and then you wouldn't even need to restart to get to the XMB, would only take a few simple function hooks... interesting...
Anyway, maybe you could add some shapes to it so its not just free hand? You know circles, quadrilaterals... hell polygons in general. Something basic like Windoze Paint I guess.

looking at most anaglyph images, its difficult to tell which colour goes on which side, as the images ive seen on the net are probably mirrored sometimes.. so i keep seeing them using blue/red on both sides..
i think if you could figure out some way to "ghost" the on-screen image twice at the same time, one with a red filter and one with blue, and then shift the red and blue filters about 5-10 (or more if needed) pixels to the left and right respectively.. maybe you could... i dunno.. make your XMB look really crap more than likely....
i hope that made sense.. and if not, perhaps some people here will have a chuckle about how bad my explanation is :)

Well, the red + blue is an excellent idea. Just modify the the edge of the selected icon and then the shadow a different colour, (red/blue). That'd give you depth perception on the selected icon rather than the whole XMB. As in fairness, it is difficult to make certain objects stand out.
This is some good stuff here Mr305, good job, I am impressed.

stereograms still seem possible though. it makes things 3d when looked at at a angle making a cool effect.

For me, if I did do Project4 over the top of the XMB I'd need to hook the XMB functions so as not to trigger anything when moving on Project4 (and vice-versa, hooking Project4 when on the XMB). I just got the idea because you're painting onto the XMB as its running, in theory I could also paint on the XMB as its running.

Usually just using ReadBuffer instead of PeekBuffer steals the controls from the VSH

Hi,
It's a great work :)
But I have a question how can you use pspgu with a prx (did you use vshblitter or did you change something in the makefile to permit this?)
Thanks in advance.
Best regards pspflashsystem.

I keep hearing about this vshblitter... It's nothing more than a VRAM text/PNG system. (It's actually from DevHook SDK, the fontblitter) :)
Also, TD, uses blit.c from DevHook, It wont work as-is, you will also need to make lots of modification + more to make it flicker-free as well.

Ok thanks a lot (I just try but it doesn't work so I need to make a lot of modifications as you said :))
Thanks again.
