[RELEASE] Game Categories Revised v3

[Bubbletune]

After a couple of days of hard work, here is the completely rewritten Game Categories Plugin.
It features two new modes, Multi-MS mode and Pre-Game-Menu mode, shown in the screenshots below. Click the link for more information.




Before you post about any issues you're having, make sure you read over the complete readme carefully.

I guess this has kind of turned in to a BETA by now, a final version will be released soon, with new features and improvements.

hmmm....this is awesome! Love the listing of each category! I thought multi-ms mode was for those with multiple memorysticks 'oh you want apps, stick in ms 2' LOL...

Great update but Ps1 games are not working under a sub catégorie ( PSP\GAME\CAT_PSONE)

for some reason, my ps1 eboots wont work after installing the plugin. I have tried everything that I know to do (which arguably isn't a terribly large amount) and nothing seems to work. My PSP backups work fine, and so does my homebrew, just not the ps1 games. That sucks, cause i am going through ff7 again, and I get the message " this game could not be started" and kicked back to the XMB.

Is it possible to set the order of the categories, such as making Games above Homebrew which is above Uncategorized in both Multi-MS Mode and Pre-Game-Menu Mode, and is there a way to rename "Uncategorized"? Everything else is amazing!

i never post on these development forums for psp homebrew... but WOW.. this is AMAZING! nice job!

• Ya the order would be cool... a-z instead of z-a
• custom rename for uncategorized
• hide uncategorized if it is empty... i managed to categorize all my homebrew and theres this empty memory stick on the screen and it bugs the crap out of me haha

but even if you dont do those this plugin is amazing! i would still be happy with what we have now...

one other thing... it seems liek eboot info loads slower with this pluggin on... maby something to look into if its happening for everybody... CHEERS!

however they "PSX" games do work if just left in game folder and load under uncategorized

I am having a couple problems i have my backups in CAT_Games in the iso folder but they do not show up and i have CAT_Emulators in both the game and game150 folders and it shows up twice in the xmb with the exact same content.

I'm sorry about the PSX games bug, when applying the patches I missed out on the PSX one, I'll release an update this midday, as I got to go right now. .

I fixed this bug a while after release, but it seems PSPUpdates uploaded the old version, redownload and see if you still have the same problem.

some ppl requested u remove the uncategorized group.

Don't! remove the Uncategorized group. Some Homebrews cannot function if they are not put in the proper directory (like Thing Thing)

It's supposed to dissappear when you have no uncategorized files at all, but I guess theres some bug in the check, fixed in next version.
Edit: Yes, there was a bug, it was detecting VIDEO folder in the ISO folder as a game, even if there was nothing in it.

A few notes: (will update if I find any more)
*Is there any way to change the "uncategorized" (Let's say if I want it to be called "GAMES" or "ISO")
*SND0.AT3 won't play in uncategorized (maybe also other categories)
*The app "Adhoc File Transfer 0.7" doesn't work when I put it in CAT_HOMEBREW

oops the adhoc ft had a really long name, that was the problem.
I wrote it short, and now everything works fine

Yeah, it was already one of the ideas for the next version. But right now I need a break, I'll mess about with it later (I also need to clean up my code, as it kind of... sucks).
