Default [Release] The Labyrinth

Hey all,

Labyrinth is a Lua Coded Homebrew which uses RayCasting Engine to draw 3D scenes.

Credits to :http://www.permadi.com/tutorial/raycast/

What’s This
The Labyrinth is a little brew game with no scenario. You just have to quickly find the way to the exit.
You’re timed for this!
As a matter of fact,The main aim of this brew is to show The game engine. The game apperas to be tridimentional, but it doesn’t uses any 3D algorithm, just RayCasting.
I’ve based this engine on Sean Connelly’s Codetank Source, and F. Permadi’s tutorial.

The animation goes fast on PC computer, but this is really slow on a PSP.I’ve did the best adjustements but i don’t think the job is done yet.Anyway you can give it a shot.

Commands:
Arrow Keys and Joystick: Move on Area.

Objectives: Just found the way to the exit before the times reaches zero.

Compatibility:
This fully work on Slim & FAt PSP.
EXtract contents into ms0:/PSP/GAME/

Nota: Anybody can try it, but this mainly concerns developers.

nice work. Cleaning up the graphics would be nice, but this looks pretty good for a first release. Keep it up.

Good homebrew "GAMED"?

Awesome butchering of the English language.

Anyway go google and learn things because lua has been used to make good homebrew before. It just got adopted, somewhere down the line, by "idiots" who keep releasing RPG's and that ruined it's reputation.

mraellis.. dang take it easy man.. im sure the "typo" was a slip of the pinky-finger considering its right next to "S" on the keyboard. and i will assume you only quoted the guy because you saw what he released on the other thread (Unamed RPG) which was TITLED W.I.P... and i will also mention that you posted a moody statement there which was unnecessary and harsh..

i think you should go get a root ya grumpy git

oh by the way.. hello again

Default Cool Idea

Hey,

Like the idea of the program and it's pretty cool looking. I've always been a fan of maze like games and have coded a bunch of ray casted ones for dos/win. I translated one awhile back for fun to compile for PSP. It just supports the basics of a ray casted engine but has a shade table implemented as well as strafing and collision detection.

If you'd like I could send it your way. Unfortunately it's written in plain old C as I have no experience with LUA. But the rendering is very fast and maintains a constant 60fps. I also have frame rate management implemented so that user movement remains smooth.

Vonsta: We have had this discussion before on various threads. WIP does not mean POS.

M33: There are a lot of posts on Qj where people have justified LUA and have listed some of the good Lua stuff. So there's no need for me to do it to.

P.s Of course i posted it to mess with Corey. I did say i would hound him now. Either way it is a valid point.

Lol, all I'm saying is that it was enough to hound him in his release thread (Bet you had fun with that) but not spamming other peoples hard work threads to mess with him. Try spamming his pm box instead if you really that serious to mess with him.

Of course i had fun with it. Wait till my reply tomorrow.

I wasn't spamming the hard work thread, just giving one OT post to say a mistake.

Anyway i was only posting 1 post to annoy him, the number we are doing now to discuss it is when it gets overboard.

I just sent you a PM with a download link. I have some more variations that use textures for walls, ceilings, and handles static objects, etc. Ill see if I can dig em up and get cygwin reinstalled.
