Default PSPDictionary v2.4.0

Hi all: I released PSPDictionary v2.4.0
In this new release, I improved the offline mode, adding the support for the translations freely distributed by Wiktionary. Now there are about 6000 translations for each language
Besides, always for the offline mode, I added a new language: the latin.

More info in the Readme file, that you can reach in this link too:
http://gefa.altervista.org/PSPDictio...ary-Readme.pdf

The official changelog is this:
Quote:
- Now the program is distributed under the GNU General Public License.
- Improved the offline mode, adding the support for the translations freely distributed by Wiktionary. Now there are about 6000 translations for each language
Besides for the offline mode has been added a new language: the latin.
- Some little improvements

You do know that a dictionary is a reference book containing an alphabetical list of words with information about them and not a translating tool right?

Either add definitions to words (which if this does do as well as translate then ignore me) or change the name from dictionary to something more accurate.

Edit - Also your direct download link doesn't even work.

I couldn't not get the link to freaking work you spanner. Its just what Altervista does it redirects you. Your link does the same has his.. it loads http://it.altervista.org/ in a new tab.

Way to stop my streak of like 5 positive posts in a row.

No the book containing the words with information about them is called VOCABOLARY... the dictionary is a translating tool

The direct link doesn't work because you must copy the link in the address bar -it's a problem of altervista...

If any of you guys are having problems with the links, you can just get it right here on QJ. It's already up on our DL site.

Download on DL.QJ here.

Meanwhile, I'm just about to post this on the frontpage too. Hehehe! Great update on this one Gefa. A couple of people were asking about offline mode too, so that's a great improvement in this version.

Edit: Ayt - now posted on FP!

Incorrect. You ****. A dictionary is not a translating tool.

Proof:

Wiktionary
  1. A publication, usually a book, with a list of words from one or more languages, normally ordered alphabetically and explaining each word's meaning and sometimes containing information on its etymology, usage, translations, and other data.
Google with loads of different ones saying it including one saying it can have different languages but HAS TO HAVE THE WORDS MEANING.

------------------

What i am saying is ok some dictionary's have translations in them etc but they also have the words meaning in them. That is what a dictionary is. It has the meanings of words in it. So the Oxford dictionary just has thousands of translations in it then for you?

ok ok, I've always thought that it was the contrary... but what is it the problem? :-) I don't change the name: the original name was PSPDictionary, and PSPDictionary remains... :-)

But it is not a dictionary and thus the name is inaccurate and misleading to people.

You should either change the name or make it a dictionary for real.

I honestly would prefer the latter and i believe others would to as a portable dictionary would be cool. But to do that you need to work out a way that your program can tell us what the words mean and not just translate them.

It was, that's why it got deleted by the qj staff/mods.

You blatantly pointed to a site and said that this game helps advertise it. You didn't say i have put this on my site so as to advertise it.

Big difference there.

Also how do i think "whole time bad" about people, for s start it doesn't make sense and for second i do not always assume the worst in people. I just speak the truth as bluntly as possible. If someone does good then i say that. Look at my recent posts to see.

Stop whining over the name, and be grateful for a well made release. You could stop worrying about trivial things and make kind "good job" comment to Gefa, who has been working on this for quite some time I presume.

Not "quite sometime" I'd say. Maybe a couple of weeks. It is a relatively simple program.

I never said he hasn't done a good job, because he has, however it isn't a dictionary and the name means a great deal.

For example: You cannot sell a chicken as a pie by labelling it pie.

The guy did an alright job but he needs to add some kind of dictionary function into this or change the name.

I agree. It's not a Dictionary and was a mistake cause he thought one meant the other. I would suggest that you rename it or even better add a dictionary to it. Then this would come in even more handy for Spanish & English class. Nice Job and keep up the offline support

This post is for peaples who have problems to connect theirs psp online. The psp Python interpter has difficulties to connects online if your wifi connection has a WPA key security (not WEP, just WPA). So, you must config your wirelless connection with a WEP key security (or noothing).
If you've problems, please tell me. and sorry for my english
