    Default [RELEASE] PSP Tool 0.9

Here is version 0.9, this is probably the final version unless there are some more issues found or if I can add support for the dreaded 3.71 firmware or a new version of DC is released. I've had this much done for a couple of weeks now and I was hoping to add something more but I'm out of ideas.

PSP Tool is a multi-purpose utility to application which can perform various general management functions on a PlayStation Portable console. This includes:
    - Backup and Restore the IdStorage of the PSP
    - Check the IPL injected on the Memory Stick or a file located on the Memory Stick
    - Check, Backup, Restore and change the battery EEPROM
    - Connect various devices through a USB cable
    - Create a checksum of the IPL injected on the Memory Stick or an IPL located on the Memory Stick
    - Create a variety of different Magic Memory Sticks
    - Erase the entire IPL space of the Memory Stick
    - Extract the IPL injected on the Memory Stick to a file
    - Format the Memory Stick
    - Inject a variety of included IPLs or an IPL from a file to the Memory Stick

In this release I made the following changes:
    - Added: Support for 2.71 SE and 1.50 running under Time Machine and check to disable running on 3.71.
    - Fixed: RSOD when choosing ‘Test M33’ feature on a DC7 MMS created with this application (only occured on Fat).
    - Fixed: Issue using SQUARE as part of the boot key when creating a Magic Memory Stick.
    - Fixed: Issue which could arise when creating more than one Magic Memory Stick in a single session.
    - Other: Other Memory Sticks can now be formatted by first clicking on the format item in the menu and before answering yes to the questions insert the second Memory Stick.
    - Other: To reduce the risk of a BSOD when installing or running a firmware from a Magic Memory Stick the registry of a 1.50 system is now copied instead of the registry of the current system (to use the current systems registry files hold the L trigger while the Magic Memory Stick is being created.)
    - Other: Implemented a check for modules which are known to cause issues with PSP Tool. If any of these modules are found a message is first shown with the modules which need to be disabled and then the PSP performs a reboot. To disable this check hold the R trigger while loading the game.
    - Updated: Now uses VLF library 1.0 by moonlight.
    - Updated: Updated the information shown in the System Information panels.

The latest version of PSP Tool can be downloaded from here.

Very nice, for some reason the vlf library reminds me of gtk(it is a runtime library). It's quite interesting, all the things you can do with it.
I gone and made that one power spoofer and that gay cheat device.

Sorry raing3, but I'm getting a lot of lock ups, then shutdown/crashes.

I have disabled all plug-ins, disabled the Speed hack mod in M33 rev 6, undone the LEDA beta .2 add on, and no themes are installed.

So, I have no Idea what could be causing it. :sorry:

There's nothing wrong with protecting your work and keeping it closed source.

Personally, I don't want to see a bunch of PSP Tool v9a's and PSP Tool X-treme's.

your right Slasher , open source is bad , it's stupid to share that , i duno why some guy like linus torval or ZX81 share it , sorry it's a stupid request ...
PSP Tool v9a or any derivate project can't be bad if the original créator don't want continue (no more idea) and the new project was better ... no ?

think to that when you'll use DedalusX64 ;)

I never said open source was bad. I just don't demand or expect everything to be open source.
It's ultimately a choice that either side I respect.

If anyone has any requests they can post them here and permitting I have the knowledge and that time permits I will gladly add any requested features and release a newer version. Also if you want the source code you can download the source code of version 0.7 here. The only real important difference between that version and this version is that this version has the Magic Memory Stick creation function and if you need information on that you could just download PSARDumper which has the source code with it and can be downloaded here.

Yeah, I would say that is probably to do with your IdStorage as well, if I update it I will make it show "N/A" so it looks better.

mate this is nice.. i dig the way it looks "original" as if it was from SONY themselves.. using the same fonts and the standard background etc.. good stuff mate..

also, the blank entry in the "Original Firmware" didnt work for me either at first.. for some reason it wont show up (its blank) when fresh-booting the PSP, but shows after exiting the app and going back into it, or when returning from SleepMode..

i tried it on my 5.00 M33-4 PhatPSP - works great but has the bug described above..
on my sons 5.00 M33-4 SlimPSP - works great with no problems..
on my 3.71 M33-4 PhatPSP - no need to write anything you already know

thanks again for a very useful (and great looking) PSPTool..

My main problem is anything having to do with reading an IPL locks up my PSP, and I can not go back in the IPL menus.

The original firmware problem is not a issue

I'll have a look and see if I can replicate the issue or if there is an obvious problem I can find in my code.

    Edit:

    Since:

    Spoiler for this build:

Everything works fine. I only get the 360.PSAR error, going back in menus, reading IPL's, and the DC installers work.

He isn't on 3.71 he's just using the 3.71 MS speed up driver so it should work.

However there are many cases where it crashes on startup however none of my units have this problem. If anyone (with development skills) has encountered this problem and thinks they can help I can send you the source code so you can track down the problem and tell me what you found wrong and how you corrected it.

Yes, that would do it. It works fine on both of my homebrew'd phats(TA-081 and TA-086, both 5.00 m33-6) however the Original Firmware for my TA-081 is blank. Probably because it's been flashed an incredible amount of times.
I gone and made that one power spoofer and that gay cheat device.
