Great Mod nct2k! It works on .chm like a charm here and it is really a nice idea to use the psp's own webbrowser while decompiling the .chm content in the background.

thumbs way up!

Hehe, the problem here was that he didn't have enough posts to post a link here.

Thanks nct2k!

how do i make a chm file so it can read it. i made a pdf from a site using my mac's print to pdf function but there are lots of pages that won't work. it happens with other ways too. I just wanna read the pdf. Can someone help me with this plz? Also, tried putting an html page file in there but nothing happened when I tried opening it. Is this an official release? By the ones who made the app? Just curious. Thx ^^

Default i want suggest you a new feature ...

hi
thanks for your work, i like this app

i want to suggest a new feature for bookr

it's a new way of zooming
because now zoom level are discrete
so the new zoom is : with the stick i (the reader) trace a quite orizzontal line on the page and after this the page zooms showing only the portion with the width of the line traced
the same thing for vertical

i escuse for my bad english, hope to be clear...

bye

I've got another request, which hopefully isn't as hard to realize... Would it be possible to enable an option to tweak the line spacing in plain txt mode? Regardless of what font, or fontsize you use, the spacing in between the lines always stays the same - this is especially unfitting for very small font sizes.

nct2k, did you start with bookr's sourceforge(link) cvs (link) as base? I ask because I know the current base includes .djvu and .pdb support along with a bunch of options that are really useful, like switching x/o buttons and auto-load of last loaded file on startup (though it's got a bug where if you delete the file and load bookr again it halts as it doesn't check if the file in the xml actually exists before telling it to load it.)

Also, I edited the font file a ways back to include some odd characters that were popping up as boxes in pdb's. If you are interested in using that too to replace the one in your project, it's a bit smaller and can be found here.

btw, if you want to further decrease the screen brightness, use the plugin "Power Manager 2.1 & PMI" (at least until hold+ has the option implemented), if you want to shut down the leds while reading, use "LED Control v0.2", both work well together.

Best txt reading environment is achieved with custom fonts (I use one that comes with dslibris, a NDS ebook reader that can be downloaded on sourceforge (can't post links, because of my posting count, so you have to google it for yourself.. )), and switched background and foreground colors (background black, writing white), on a first gen PSP with the screen brightness set to 8 (look at the "Power Manager 2.1 & PMI" thread in this forum for further instructions), and automatic screen shutdown disabled in the energy saving settings.

The effective screen brightness might vary upon the PSP model you own, or the hours the backlight already was in use (i have two PSPs set up exactly the same, and one worked out to be far brighter than the other).

Hi all,

I've used bookr 0.7.1 from sourceforge to develop. I'll try to merge the HEAD from CVS.

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions!

this version doesn't seem to be as compatible as 0.7.1 is with a lot of my ebooks.. would freeze when loading certain ones and sometimes when turning a page guess I'll stick with 0.7.1 for now...

Hi nicodemus82,

This version have to share some memory for launching PSP Internet Browser, so latest build only has 8MB left for PDF module.

That's why you encounter some crashes, I'm trying to fix this. One problem I found out and fixed is that mupdf will try to store all pages info in memory when loading; so if the pdf contains so many pages -> most likely lead to out of memory.

But there's still leak if we re-open the same file (although minor).

If after next release still cannot work. I think I'll better separate CHM module.
