    Default [RELEASE] PopStation PSP

I have ported the popstation.exe application for the pc to the psp.:Jump:
popstation is a pc application that converts a PSX ISO/BIN to a PSX EBOOT.
The package can be found on my site. Within the package there's also a manual (manual.txt).
To install, simply copy the folder in the package to you PSP GAME folder.

Just go to the psp -> links and find the download. (POPStation PSP)

All there's left is to test it in different firmwares. I know it works under cfw 5.00m33-4 (that's the one i used).
If tested under a different firmware that isnt below, please post if it works in this topic.

    UPDATEs:

v2.0: Added a list of psx titles & IDs. It will now change the psx EBOOT save id, game title and game ID, according to what game you select (list is retrieved from psx.db. The psx.db file might be outdated, search Google etc. to find the most recent one).

v3.0: Changed the software a bit so that the conversion should always be at maximum speed. Further i added the option to add multiple pictures of games at the same time. Also the software will automatically generate saved data for the conversion at the end of the iso writing part.

OTHER TOOLS that have something in common with this application:

PSX DataBase Editor v1.0: It let's you edit psx.db file (MS-DOS Application). To look up on the commands you just type help<(enter)>
Due to limited stack space, it only can hold up to 1000 records. When loading a file with more than 1000 records, the information will be truncated to 1000 records.

PSX DataBase Editor v1.1: Added a command that displays some extra information about the application and the version info (in this case 1.1).

    Tested firmwares:
    5.00m33-4
    5.00m33-6

Make a readme! Need instructions! But I figured it out.

It works. Takes a very long time compared to the PC version, but that's expected.

Does it automatically detect the game and apply the right number (SCUS0000 or SLUS0000)? Some games need certain ones to run right. If not, you should allow the user to enter one, or select from a list.

You should make it easier by letting you navigate the memory stick to find the files you want to use.

It isn't super useful, because the time it takes to copy to MS and convert you could be done on PC, but very cool anyway.

I guess if you rip or download and PSX game somewhere else and don't have time to convert it, it could be useful to have.

POPstation is the converter for PSX games to work on the PSP. Not to be confused with the PSP knock-off called popstation.

This allows you to convert a PSX ISO for the PSP on the PSP.

    ah ic
    thanks for the brilliant info
yeah i confused it with the knock-off

    let me guess
since this was a converter for pc normally
it takes a long time, and a lot of battery for the psp?

I haven't quite figured out how to change other things than the EBOOT game-id. Plus i still need to find a way to read the id from the psx iso/bin file.

Anyone knows how to do that?

It doesn't use much battery. It takes much longer then the PC, but it can have its uses. I have downloaded... I mean ripped my own PSX ;) games on another PC, eg. school, and not had time to convert. So in that situation this could be useful if I wanted to play really bad.

@ SuperFury1 - if you look at the source of popstation.exe, you might be able to find it, or the source for popstation GUI's to see what they do, and find the conversion of it for the PSP. I think manually entering the SLUS or SCUS code, or a list would be enough, and I think its something to do with the file header. Maybe.

A nice tool would be a port of the psx ID changer. It'd also be nice to have a mem card manager for < 5.00 fws.

    Just me wishing.

Pretty neat app, I'm using fw 5.00m33-6. It was going along kinda slow about 30kb/sec until I saved and quit then relaunched it and continued the conversion, then it went at about 300kb/sec for a 90mb disc; also it's nice that it doesn't stretch an 80x80 icon0.png to 144x80 like most other popstations, thanks!

all the files it uses are included in the packages (the psx.db file might be outdated, search Google etc. to find the most recent one).
