Default Netfront Internet Browser Beta 3 - HighMemoryMod By Team P86

---Netfront Internet Browser - HighMemoryMod By Team P86---

You know, Sony limits our memory in Internet Browser. So we cannot play big flash games and open big web sites.
This mod removes this limitation. And you can use all of the memory that your PSP has.
If your PSP is Fat, the HighMemMod uses all of 32 MB RAM.
If your PSP is Slim, the HighMemMod uses all of 64 MB RAM!!!

That's very interesting, isn't it?

Now the browser loads your pages in very short seconds!
You can play your online flash games fast...

The program is beta so it may be buggy. If you see any problems, please reply this topic....

Link: RapidShare: Easy Filehosting

----What's new----
-The new logo was added(Thanks, Lelouch15)
-The speed on Slim was increased(%200).
--There is a bug which the mod didn't use UMD Cache and it used the same memory part with Fat... Fixed...
-The mouse lag was fixed on Slim(Sometimes it may lag).
-XMB Plugin was added...
--If you want to use this mod instead of the default one, you should flash vsh folder...(flash0)..
-Etc. Etc.

---Thanks---
-Dark-Alex for his ramtestsample...(Large Memory)
-PSPSDK creators...(SDK, DEV and samples)
-JK108 and Lelouch15 for their support and test(They are my testers)
-Mazide for the good theme(EBOOT).
-Lelouch15 for the new logo

First of all this app is cool. Now the browser is fast even in the phat psp.
I wonder if you can make a patch to use the slim's memory to phat.
The other 32MB of ram that it is need it can take them from memory stick.

reading from the memory stick (otherwise known as virtual ram) would be very slow, and at the same time i have to ask, why would you limit it to 32 mb, why not 1gb, but like i said it's very slow

Your choice in music is horrible. Please remove it, and the large PNG from the eboot. They are a waste of space and makes the XMB slower.

Please remove the prompt that pops up when the program opens (we don't need to be told which PSP we are using, we know already) and when we click "Exit Browser" (when we click exit we want to exit)

Is there any real disadvantage to flashing the plugin as opposed to using the eboot ?

If you don't like it then don't use it or even better, you can take them out by yourself !!

Thanks for this app.

i was wondering, the broswer itself is pretty dated (gui, java, flash etc)
how complicated would it be to port the mobile mozilla browser to psp?

yes you can use with custom themes, i use cxmb and it works fine. theres no reason i can think of that those two things would mess with each other at all

Beta2 and 3 don't work on my PSP-1000 with Firmware 3.40 OE.

It detects it as a slim and throws error 0x80020190.

The first beta worked.

Btw using the Firefox logo for a Netfront browser is no good idea. Mozilla does not like unauthorized use of their trademarks.

This is still not working with custom themes in flash0 and the vsh version doesnt work at all on my psp 2000 with or without a custom theme in the flash. The psp just does a cold reboot when the internet is started.

Place the "HtmlMax_Eng" folder into PSP/GAME/ and copy the "htmlviewer_plugin.pr x" into /VSH/MODULE. Do not rename the folder if you want the plugin to work.

Or you can hex edit htmlviewer_plugin.prx within the limit to have it launch somewhere else on your MS (mines was hex edited as ms0:/PSP/APP/NETFRONTINET/EBOOT.PBP).

I tested & it works with flashed themes, CTF themes, and stock on my PSP-2000

HighMemMod doesn't work with legacy version. You should run in the latest version...

For better flash usage:
You should disable all functions(image, animation, javascript and the others) except Flash...
For better PSP browsing:
You should set Cache Size -none-.
And you should disable all plugins you're using...

I use these settings. It may be useful on your PSPs, too...

What are the technical problems? The first beta worked.
I use the PSP mainly for so called homebrew, so there is no need to update. Every other app until now worked. I would rather fear that some older apps could have problems on 5.0.

All 3.XX/2.XX work on 5.00M33-6. I haven't had a single problem yet myself. I recommend updating, of course if you played retail games that needed higher firmware your avedata will become corrupt, unless you create unencrypted copies first(idk if savegame deemer works on 3.40).

Does this version have sound??

My only reason for wanting this is to watch bigger flash cartoons. It can run them, but Beta 1 and 2 didn't have sound. I hope that's fixed, or will get fixed soon!

Because of the updates M33 SDK in 3.71 and 4.01....
The problem is the detection of the PSP Model. The homebrew detects your PSP as Slim and can't load the HighMemMod(64 MB)...

Hi guys, for some reason, this application refuses to work on my PSP. So far none of the three betas have even started, let alone allowed me to use the internet. I'm currently running 5.00 M33-6 on a PSP Slim. Whenever I attempt to run the app, it tells me what model of PSP I'm using (?) and reverts back to the xmb with an error saying something about creating vpl?? If anyone knows why this is happening, or how to fix it, please lend a hand.
Also, is there a way that this can replace the default internet browser on the xmb, and on irshell??

Thank you for your answer. You could extend the slim detection with a firmware check. If version <3.60, assume a fat psp. Or add a binary with fixed 32MB limit.

If you want to replace it, please copy vsh folder to your flash0...
If you're using some plugins in background, it may cause that memory problem....
