Psp Power Saver v.0.0.7
Long awaited update... Now its a prx because running the eboot every single time you booted up your psp is a real pain in the ass.
If you dont know what it is...
Don't you hate when you are playing a game and about to beat the level and your psp power is low and you have to run to go get the charger? Well that is no more because with the Psp Power Saver you can now play for longer periods time.Just enable the prx and viola. This is just a beta release so you probably wont notice the power increase because its only about a 10% increase. In later revisions i will attempt to amp it up to about 50 or 100%.
So enjoy... I am not responsible for your psp blowing up when you use this ;) This project is closed source for now, i wont release the source until i abandon the project or until i cant do anything else with it...
How it works:
This turns off the umd driver when you are not using it (iso/cso, Homebrew, internet, music ect.) In turn this will save you about 5% of power. Also turns off the drivers that load up the rss channel, location free player, gocam, and the internet radio. (You can still use these they just are off when you are not)
Installation:
Put the PspPowerSaver.prx in your seplugins folder And add
ms0:/seplugins/PspPowerSaver.prx to your game.txt
Changelog:
v.0.0.7 -Converted it to a prx because running the eboot everytime at power up was a real pain in the ass

Waaait wait wait, could someone explain to me how unloading such drivers as the RSS Channel, LocationFree or Go!Cam could save you any power? I can kind of understand the UMD driver but I believe that unloading the others mentioned here would just save some RAM?

JaX3RiR, in theory unloading modules or disabling their callbacks would mean no CPU time is "wasted" in updating those callbacks at their specified intervals. It is possible that removing things that actively poll USB for hardware insertion is in fact going to save power.
What I don't know is how Warlock is getting his "power saved" values or whether they are accurate, as generally disabling hardware or underclocking hardware (which becomes less noticeable if you disable things that occasionally waste cycles like unused callbacks) is going to be the only way to actually save power. In my own experience using a slower CPU speed actually used more power... it's not like the hardware was designed and then they decided "ok, let's just use a battery instead."

Well I got some emails from multiple people (like 10) saying that they were always enabled... And well i do it the "ghetto" way i charge my psp all the way and sit next to it with a timer without it enabled and then with it and i do the math...

I think this prx will become good... as it already is... so far half the things that were cut down, i don't even use. Plus, making the processes slower doesn't take up more power it just makes it take longer to do something... I just don't know if those cpu cycles were skipped or they run into a brick wall and fails... Don't care really as long as it works by saving power... I can always disable it.
I like though, this update is even better than the last. What if you could change the brightness levels for the psp? slim (2xxx) is 28 i think for the lowest brihtness level... and the highest is 98 or 99 i heard 100 did funny things... 6 brigtness levels instead of 4?

I know that in order to have less power used the cpu and bus speed have to be adjusted as needed. (dynamic clocker) The bus speed has to be about half the cpu speed. Lowest bus speed is about 34~55 and cpu is 68~111, I think. [O.O] That would mean 34-166bus and 68-333 and (pll?) is equal to cpu?
Cwcheat has a good auto-clocker except for bus speeds...
If it is implemented then the bus speed would be the only thing that is needed to be fixed.
