Anyway long time since i did anything, but a new video
YouTube - PSP Mario - Update 4 HUD done!

Everything is explained in the video description, HUD done for now . Soon i'll release this for anyone who wants to test it

By next release you mean a proper version release? If so then hopefully soon. Looking at my todo list honestly the only 'big' thing left is the ending sequence. The flag stuff might be hard, because of the animations on the flag, and mainly the mario/luigi animation's on there.
But yeah nearly everything i've set out to add to the game has exceeded my initial thoughts on how far this would go, it's gone from blocky platformer to mario platformer (using standard collision which was bad) to this a whole new ground-up bulid using tilemaps & tile-based collision.
SO now it's all about the flag, getting the tiles into the sheet, adding the code, adding more animations to mario/luigi is last on the list but will be all done in time

Depending on how things go it's likely that i'll have version 0.1 sometime this week, honestly i felt the flag stuff would be hard, it's the main reason i left it out for so long. But i've got the base set up today, the rest is simple. So a release should be soon .
Also to note the map editor, i coded the editor about 5/6 months ago, looking back on what i did, for the most part it's good. But things like the menu's were rushed so i need to re-code them, a PGE build of the editor was made ages ago, i haven't updated it since. So i'll start from afresh with the editor in PGE. I'm thinking about adding the ability to test the levels in the editor?
(Because the game core is written in PGE, the editor vid i showed was the HM build. It isn't workable, my plan is to have the editor with the game.)
So i'm going to be busy
