UPDATE v3.01:

Decent update.

* You can now control the distance on the camera from the cycle with Up and Down on the D-pad
* You can now control the height of the camera from the cycle with the analog stick up and down
* Reset camera distance and height with O while in-game
* 'The Void' by 0m3GA ARS3NAL skin now comes bundled with the game (along with Virtual Reality)
* Tracers/rails are now randomly colored til the main graphical bug is fixed
* Fixed up 'uber' gametype, no longer can you go through walls and walls will destroy properly
* You may now toggle MP3 looping with TRIANGLE in the Pause menu in-game!
* MP3 Playback should be much more stable now (yes finally lol)
* more i just can't remember!

Same here. Maybe SG forgot to include a few files required to run the game in the archive?

I don't know what to say. The file is not corrupt, it works fine on my PSP fresh install as well as others on irc and others who download. Seems the random few cannot ;\

All i can ask is what firmware you guys are on and slim/phat. Make sure its 5.xx kernel, no mods or any plugins etc. My PSP is 5.00 m33-6 and i have no plugins or mods anything.

I believe it is mp3 related (do you guys all have music in music folders or ? If someone who it crashes for, can you remove/rename your music folders to see if that makes a difference (i doubt it but mm.. curious)

I actually have no music on my psp. Could that be the cause?

I do have a few plugins, il try disabling them.

well the game has a default mp3 that plays fine. Must be your plugins

Tried disabling all the plugins but get the same result :/

I am also on 5.00m33-6...

This is odd. Gets to the dashhacks splash, fades out then stays black for a few seconds then shuts off the PSP.

Can't wait to try this, if you have any more ideas I would be happy to try them

Tell me, do you hear an mp3 playing when you are in the dashhacks part?

I need to know if it is the mp3 playing or a possible memory/stack/heap corruption (which wouldn't make much sense considering it works on some psp's and others not so much).

Can't get this to work. It shows the splash screen, then locks up.

Using my original PSP (phat)
custom firmware 5.0 M33-6
1.5 kernel access turned on
I have this in the folder E:\PSP\GAME\zLight Cycle 3D
Using a Photofast Dual SDHC to MS adapter with 16GB of memory. (I don't believe this is to blame though since I am running about 30 other emus and homebrews that work great.)

Hopefully this gets fixed since I'd like to give it a try.

I'm using a slim so no 1.5 for me

I don't hear a mp3 i hear a sound effect however

OK. I was able to get this working in the 5.xx dir and still keep my 1.5 kernel homebrew settings.

Nice job on the game! I had some fun with this. A couple things I would add/change though...

1. I think something that would add a lot in terms of gameplay and strategy would be the addition of a turbo button like in the arcade version from many years ago. It was very satisfying to go side by side with an enemy... hit turbo to gain the edge and cut them off!

Good times.

2. Map camera angles to the analog stick. I found it a bit tough to adjust the camera manually which racing.

3. Allow a way to quit while in a game. I found you either have to wait until everyone crashes or reset the PSP to get back to the main screen. (Maybe there is already a way and I just don't know how :P )

I had the same problem. Put it in your 5.xx directory and it will work perfectly.

didn't help. i tried almost everything that does not involve flash... changing options in recovery, change cpu speed, no plugins, change GAME folder, change folder name, nothing.

I just reloaded 5.00 m33-6 and started from scratch. after putting back my settings 1 by 1, i came to the conclusion that the only thing i haven't added back has to be the culprit...

5.00 m33-6 w/ 1.5
cpu at max for xmb/game
version.txt at 5.51 and enabled
music.prx
ultimate vsh
cwcheat full
cxmb with themes
pops

i haven't put the fatmsmod back in and just stayed with the mspd speedup at always....it's working great...love this game...addictive from the get-go...so, unless someone has 5.00 m33-6 and the fatmsmod with the game working, i think that has to be it...
