AVEC V2 GPS Vector Map Viewer for PSP

AVEC is a Vector map viewer capable of displaying and navigating mapss
in the common Polish format maps.
This 1.50 kernel version can also receive location from a GPS device and
display your location on the map.
If the map file has street information, the program tells you what street
you are in, or lookup the name of a street selected with the crosshair.

Default AVEC V2 - Newer Firmwares Version

This is the user mode version for newer firmwares (with no 1.50 kernel mode).
It has no GPS functionality, but the map viewer and navigation works the same.
    Cheers, Art.

Why not use the newer kernels? 1.50 is 3/4 years old :/

The version in the second post is for newer firmwares.
1.50 kernel mode is the only way I have the serial port working to talk to a GPS device.
The other version has GPS functionality disabled for now.

I've just doubled the performance by doing the line and poi search at the same time.
I wish I'd done that before the first release.

In the source code of MapThis you can find some modules to have serial mode in newer kernels.

I hope psp-290 is supported too in next version !

I would need to have the USB GPS to test it.
The green screen program for MapThis! for slim doesn't run in my PSP/3xx folder.
I've yet to see if MapThis! for slim works in that folder.

    BTW:
If either of you have Deniska's USB GPS test program talked about in this thread:
forums.ps2dev.org :: View topic - USB GPS Functions!
It would come in handy. The link is dead.

Seems the edit button is missing from my posts?

Had to re host the images since Photobucket imposed a bandwidth limit.

V3 is almost ready with big speed improvements due to the implementation of Indexed Polish file format.
There is a utility built into AVEC for the file conversion, but I'm also considering writing a
PC app for faster file conversion.

I have maintained compatibility with the standard Polish format, but the app will draw at the same speed
    when using them.
