DC8 5.55 OFW PSP mod by RedBull

This allows you to test the dc OFW 5.55 firmware from Sony (EYE IS AN OFW, NO CFW).

Installation:

- Copy the update folder in PSP-> GAME
- Creates the eboot to 5.55 yourself with PBP unpacked by example and put it in the root of the memory renamed to 555.PBP.
- Put the eboot of 5.00 and put it in the root renamed to 500.PBP.
- Run our software.

Use:

Already in the menu of the DC, do not press the first option (Install 5.00 M33) and to actually install the firmware 5.55 with the modules M33 and ipl,
it would have a brick. However, if you want to test the firmware 5.55 official press in the second option (Install 5.55 OFW) and this will install correctly.
With this DC OFW 5.55 can be installed in flash, and emulate 5.00 M33-4 from the memory stick.
If you want to have installed the 5.00 M33-4 in the flash, take the resurrection.prx of update folder and copy to TM-> DC8-> kd replacing by the existing one. Then in the menu, select the option "Install 5.00 M33".

I haven't been able to run any recent OFW with Pandorized battery and DC 7/8 with my TA-085 v1 Slim. Is this possible now or is this for phat only?

Yes. I used PBP Unpacker for do the proccess and for build 555.PBP , I took param.sfo , icon0.png and data.psp of the 5.00 eboot and then the DATA.BIN of G.I.JOE umd.

This works! Great! However I have to boot my Slim PSP with chargeable USB cable because it won't boot with Pandorized battery.

yea cause OFWs 5.00 and above now need a normal battery to boot up.

so are you able to run backups on 5.55 OFW? i know its an OFW, but you stated that it emulates 5.00 M33-4 from the MS, if that is so, it should be able to run backups right?

I used to have phat and in that I had OFW on flash0 and CFW on ms0 and was able to dual boot with Pandora. I think I had 5.00 M33 in it but I might be wrong. Can't test it anymore.

No. You can't run backups on OFW 5.55.
It's for testing purpose only. I guess you can access OFW 5.55 flash with DC 5 and Elfmenu to find out what has changed.

@Bozzo, check this guide out. I suggest you format the Lflash, then reflash 5.00 M33-6, then using this app to go to 5.50. If your goal is to go to 5.55 OFW only, there is an alternate way.
