Default [Release] VGT Evolution v1

Finally, the Team VGT releases a new application for PSP. It's called VGT Evolution. It's participating in Scenery Beta IHS 2009, so if you want to vote it, we'll be happy.
VGT Evolution was an idea to do something original, and that at the moment wasn't created in PSP Scene. Now you have some images to show you how is VGT Evolution:

Operation (how does it work?)
  • Digital Pad
  • Cross (X): Select an option
  • Select: Open VGT Menu (like a VSH Menu)

Details
  • Developed in C.
  • Images an MP3 included inside the EBOOT.
  • There is the possibility to choose between 2 themes.
  • Bar like Mac Style (Rocket Dock, I think it's called).
  • There are some effects when you open a window.
  • The language is charged in function the one you have in XMB (by the moment Spanish and English).
  • "Scroll" and "Blink" messages.
  • If the prx aren't with the EBOOT, the homebrew won't start.
  • There's an information bar: User, and Battery info.
  • MP3 Sound in the bar and credits.
  • VGT Menu:
    • Change language.
    • Change theme.
    • Screenshot.
    • Exit to XMB.
    • Reboot PSP.
    • Shutdown PSP.
  • Functions:
    • USB Connection:
      • MS.
      • Flash0.
      • Flash1.
      • Flash2.
      • Flash3.
    • Release space:
      • Backup files.
      • Release space.

Thanks a for your replies. I'm one of the developers, and we were working for it two months. We are planning some new versions, and they are going to have a lot of new things.

Is there an option in the shell to change the menus to English?

Yes! You push "Select" and then "Cambiar idioma" But if you got the XMB in English, the application will appear in English.

Sorry for the (most likely stupid) question, but when this says
"Do not use battery options on PSP 3000/2000" Does that
mean all Slim models, or just those with motherboards that
only support ChickHEN and not a full Custom Firmware?

I'm not sure, but I would be careful.
Actually I have a PSP slim w/ 5.50 GEN-B, but mine doesn't even support pandora making. All motherboards as of TA-085v2 and later cannot do battery options...

Yeah, I'm not sure what board I have (I never could figure that out), but I managed to downgrade the thing and up it to 5.00 m33, and as far as a pandora goes, my board won't make 'em, but I managed to acquire the machinations to create them.

You can't use the battery options with any type of PSP-2000 or 3000, I've read is dangerous.

Yes, there is no pandora options for PSP 3000.
However, PSP 2000 definitely can, as long as the motherboard is TA-085v1... I would just have your program run a check to see what motherboard the user is on, and block it for non-compatible PSPs.

This chart may be helpful in clearing up any confusion:

Overall, I like it, but there are a few things I'd personally like to see in it.
-A practical file explorer. (One which could load text files and mp3's for reading, but not necessarily write access.)
-The ability to do away with the transition, or at least change it to a classy fade.
-The use of the Joystick to move the pointer, the D-Pad to scroll through listed options, the use of 'X' to use the currently selected option, as opposed to the confirmation paw, and the use of 'O' to go back, or up a menu level.
-The ability to escape the credits if accidentally launched.

All in all, this is a good looknig functional project, and I'd like to see it replace much of what IRShell is used for, since IRShell doesn't get official updates to support GEN or other up to date CFW's.

By the moment we've thought in MP3 player, and to add the Joystick movement. About the transitions we'll think about it, and the credits will add like an escape button. Thanks a lot

Sorry for the doublepost, you'll can delete it, if a blogger read it. In the page of dl.qj, in VGT Evolution, the downlaod counter, I think isn't working. And if you can change M14_b2 for Team VGT, will be better. Sorry and thanks a lot to QJ Staff, you're amazing

I don't know why, but VGT Evolution works in 5.50 GEN-B, if the PSP is 2000. I've tested too in 5.50 GEN-B on my PSP Fat, and I had the same problem as you. In 5.50 GEN-A in PSP Fat works.

What kind of transitions do you like? I've read that you prefere the fade effect.

Why i say transitions are the worse? Slow, non-impressive and weird. If he just made a screen fading would be awesome... OR better, sSomething like the main screen getting all blurry and the selected option screen on top of that.
