Well, this looks good, but i have a suggestion.
Instead of putting one massive tileset in there, Why not put the tileset in the folder where the Map data and the collision data is.
And I can't wait for that editor, as you know, lol, I posted in the article.
But yeah, try to add more features from Mario, like the ability to spawn Bullet Bill's from the edge of the map, and Bloopers and things like that.
Hopefully this will turn into a nice game...
Map editor would make the game awesome, letting people make there own games![]()

Found 3 problems. 2 Im sure you know of already.
1. Collision problem here. Couldn't find any others:
2. Lifes go into negatives...cool but not how it should be (Im sure you know this and just havn't programmed it to end when you reach your final life.i396.photobucket.com/albums/pp45/UnknownToaster21/snap016-1(.)jpg

Note: As I only have 5 posts, I can not post links, so my way around it was putting quote tags and putting parentheses around the period. 1. There is a general collision bug when if your under both a ? block & a brick block they will both hit.
2. That's a unwanted 1 in the collision map![]()
3. Did you dl the fix version to test? I think i know where the problems lies ;)
4. Lives go negative purely because i was testing the death stuff and returning back to the HUD black screen. I will add the game over screen

Sorry for the big delay, as many people know the school season has started so i'm in college doing AS levels, and trying to get used to the whole 'college' thing isn't easy.
But anyway let's move on from excuses
So for all instructions view the README! file (just open it up with any text editor)
& everything you need to know is in there. It's a fairly simple, easy to use editor & once you get the hang of it, it isn't bad.

Hi,
I finished Level2 of the original game with some differences because of the tiles.
But when I try to reopen it I get an error:
Error: index.lua:69 bad argument #1 to 'getn' (table expected, got nil)

Right, i'll try it out now. I'll find the problem ;)
Edit: Well i loaded your level fine. And from the error line, it's a function thats lists a certain directory (System.listDirectory()). & that lists a directory called 'Data' where all the files are saved.
Also you forgot the flag. It'll look funny when you place it but thats is fixed when your play it, (test the level out), you also forgot the collision at the end (the block that holds the pole).

I did some lua apps but didnt release!
maybe my psp is the problem i dont know...
Did you fix the mistakes in the map? i cant open it in the game either...
I'll make some more maps if you want!
I already made a new version of the gameboy marioland level1..
(same mistake with the pole because i didnt know how to set it!)

it's a bit unhandy yet.
but i put them into the Level-1 folder and rename them to Level1.
I made some yet and just test them like that...
and have level select on a menu! :).
ima take a look at the code for this agen soon coz i wanna see what you have done and maybe get some ideas, not that i have time to code much these days anymore with my 9-5 n all.

Oh yeah forgot to say how the score system works, but a quick run down:
-Hit goomba
-Counter starts
-If you hit another goomba (well any enemie) then the counter resets & the multiplier increments, so you'll get the 200, 400, 800, etc. scores.
-If you exceed the counter maxTime then it resets & the multipler returns back to 1, (back to 100)
-& the process starts over again ;)


i got some suggestions:
A position indicator for the leveleditor to see the position where the tile is at the moment?
That would be awesome!
And for the game and the editor:
some more tiles (water or lava) and enemies.
I know its in progress and maybe you already had these ideas but they are flipping through my head for some days now.
