Default AVEC GPS V6 (3D Terrain)

AVEC GPS V6

Hi Guys,
AVEC GPS is a vector GPS mapping program for the Sony PSP.

3D Contour View

Find Place by Name

Menu

New for version 6 is the 3D terrain mode, labeled streets, much smaller map files,
and a bunch of other stuff
If you don't have a GPS device, but still want to play with it, just open one of the sample maps
and start moving the direction pad and analogue joystick.

Thanks guys, I'm working now on a new supported file type called a "set file" which is a text file that defines
a set of map tiles that are joined to each other. Then as you drive off the edge of one map, another is auto loaded.

Well you can actually, you don't need a GPS to move the map pointer

Thumbs up

Thanks again! But I guess I have to make my maps again since the old ones are not working.
Well, another thing.I see your second screenshot. Can't you make it after you enter one road name to have an option to enter another one and to highlight a route between them the same way?If you get what I'm trying to say.You said that the auto routing part is stripped from the map. However if there is information about the direction of the traffic(one-way,two-way,etc)it must be possible to calculate a route from one place to another without the need of a default planning calculator.I don't need to be told where I have to turn, but I essentially need to see how to go to a certain place on the map.Or at least an external route maker like in MapThis!,or anything whatsoever, since this is something of vital importance.

And another question:why did you choose the polish format for the maps? The whole map of my country is 18 megabytes in .img, whereas when converted in .mp it becomes around 100mb.I don't actually know why the size bloats so violently when I convert it.

Speaking of conversion:this probably has been discussed already, but why does the MP Converter freeze when I click away from the window? That means that I can't do anything else on the computer,so my only option is to leave it on overnight to convert the map.

Seriously,if I had the money I was planning to pay for Go!Explore I would have gladly donated 30 pounds for the development of this software! And I look forward to see more improvements like navigation and bigger map support!

Maps are now half the size, and with the arrangement in the upcoming V7, detailed maps of a whole country can be used
since the new set file allows you to drive off one map tile, and onto another.

It's probably hogging too much CPU time.. an issue I haven't tried to address yet.

Because the Polish format is plain ascii Human readable text.
The way I reduced the size for the V6 converter is representing the coordinate floats with four bytes each
instead of ascii text.

I'd prefer Go Explore to be honest but they didn't do their app with a 2D graphics library.

Yes, I know how it should work in the interface, but,
No, that function just highlights the first line segment with the label you searched for.
It draws the line again in a different colour. That's not anything like a pathfinding algorithm.

I think track logging is a more useful feature for me, since I already have an auto routing GPS.
It logs tracks too, but I think I can better visually represent them.

The user mode version for PSP-290 should work on the slim (with or without the GPS attached).
