Default [Request] Button Plugin

I got a question if somebody is able to code a Plugin that emulates the start Button if I press for example the Note Button?

Why?
Because my Buttoncable broke and the Start Button is not working anymore.

And dont come along with buying a new cable!
This is a serious question

maybe you should by another PSP
anyway, I don't think it's possible to create such a plugin, unless if someone created a whole new vshmain.prx, and replaced all the PSP_CTRL_START with PSP_CTRL_NOTE =P

yeah, it's possible, if you know assembly that is...
I unfortunatly don't any, so don't expect anything from me =P
but what CFW are you using? coz there are some modules that can't be decrypted, not yet anyway

I have 5.00 M33-6

So the decryption should be possible!
But i dont know anything about programming except a bit Lua.

If I knew i would try it myself

I dont expect anything i just want to check out the possibilities...
If there is really no chance doing it I have to buy a new cable either.

it's completely possible, you'd have to hook into the buttons control, intercept any note presses, and make them look like a start button, i don't have the knowledge on how to do this, and i doubt the people whom have the knowledge would make it, but a plugin that allows switching button's would probably help alot of people suffering from the same problem as you

yeah, I tried to do that with the lock button, but my project ended with a EPIC FAILURE :'(
it's incredibly difficult to create a plugin like this, keep that in mind
and there's no 5.00 modules decrypter released yet, so that makes your idea even "less" possible
sorry dude

Oh I thought there would be decrypted modules yet.
What about the PRX Decrypter? Doesnt this one do it?

I have no idea about how difficult it is.
Maybe someone can do it.

And why would nobody do it? There are so many useless plugins why wouldnt someone try it
Isnt it a challenge from now on???

as mootjeuh said, it's a difficult project, and many of those "useless" plugins you refer to are written by people whom probably don't have anywhere close to the skill level to do something like intercepting button presses, honestly the only people i think that could do this easily is, Davee, BubbleTune, A_Nub, and probably a few others whom i'm forgetting, their arn't many devs around here that understand ASM, and plugin dumping, and hooking good enough to be able to do things like this

truely if you want this, your best bet is too start learning how to make it yourself

Until someone is willing to create this plug-in, why not try:

PSP 2000 Cable

PSP 1000 Cable set

It is cheap for only 1-5 USD and it is an easy fix.

how bout simply opening your psp up and direct wiring the note button to the start button :P.

seen as the note button only changes the software equaliser when pressed if you have headphones in then it would work instead of the start button and if you had headphones in then you would simply uplug them if you were that bothered to press start .

and I meant a Pandora games console but i was being sarcastic soz :P.

I don't know, ...
I mean, those are indeed decrypted and decompressed, but I have no idea how to tell if they're really 5.00 modules.
if they are, then that does bring some hope into your problem

If the wiring would be possible... guess what?!

I dont need the equaliser function thats the fact! that was why i though about it
and it just doesnt do anything if the the headphone isnt pluged i guess!

by the way i dont need sarcasm i need a serious answer...

Ummm I'm feeling crazy enough right now, just tell me if you want the button change for games (I bet you want it for this xDDD) or for the XMB, or both; it's is not hard and it won't take me time from my projects.

Of course if it is for games then probably You'll have to test it and feed me back the results, because I think not all games call the same functions to read the buttons.

PD: The acomplisment of this is not difficult at all, what is difficult is to find information and help about hooking functions.

THANK YOU!
I thought i'd just get crap answers (Never mind guys)!

You bet right
If it would be possible for both would be great but i dont need it right now!
Mostly for games or homebrew!
Testing is no problem!!! I'll do everything that is necessary!

This thread is funny Fixing hardware with software.

Anyone who's ever installed a modchip in a PS2 should be used to the sort of soldering required, and could fix it for you with wrap wire.

if it's only the start button that is broken, the cable must be only slightly ripped, or all the front buttons would be broken.

Yeah I'm a real clown!

I know how to solder! Thats is not the problem!
If I could fix it with soldering...

guess what?!

with my question I just intended if it IS possible or NOT to do it with a plugin!
Before blowing my PSP or buying a new cable...
And in my opinion there is no need to tell me what I could do but to answer my question?!
