Smile [release] eboot 2 iso 1.1 (pc)

Here's my release of the improved eboot2iso 1.0 app:

EBOOT2ISO 1.1

Bugfixes:
- Changed the way most of the files were copied. Instead of just throwing all the files, except DATA.PSAR, in the buffer and writing them to their corresponding files, they all use a 1MB sized buffer to copy their data.
- This means that the psn store eboots should work now, allowing them to be converted without errors!
EDIT: PSN store EBOOTs don't work yet . That might be the cause of the encryption of the DATA.PSP...

As usual, the file can be downloaded here

Happy converting!

BTW, anyone knows what's going wrong?

When i try to upload a file to these posts, the forums keep saying:

Quote:

I haven't got the chance to upload anything.... ever!

Anyone knows a solution?

The problem i have with ISO files:

I need their structure, and how to build it, but can't find it ANYWHERE!!!

Further i don't know if it's different or the same with PSP ISOs.

Why upload it at sendspace, while i already have my own site to put it on? And at my own site i know what's going on (behind your browser, on the server scripts). The only other place i want to put it on is here in the forums and on dl.qj.net (which needs a slight detour, cuz i can't put it on dl.qj.net...). The problem i'm having is already explained: it gives me a Quota exceeded by XXX.X KB, how to get arround this? (So it will upload the file as it's supposed to.)

ah, i didn't realize you had your own site to upload it at, i only offered sendspace as an alternative to uploading to the forum, as for the Quote problem, qj has been going through extensive amount of re-working and upload of files maybe broken(just a guess)

The error was just cuz i was fixing a bug in the system that checks for a structure in youtube episodes using your account settings (like: '<animename>*<episodenumb er>*<part#>/<totalparts>') for calculating your next episode in the youtube viewer. This is fixed now.

The demos from PSN don't work yet (unfortunately...). It should work on normal homebrew (Tested it on my own homebrew apps createn in pspdev/pspsdk btw. They worked fine.).

Here's one reason I think:
EBOOT.BIN is the ~PSP version (Encrypted using Sony's stupid keys)
BOOT.BIN is the ELF version (Not encrypted using Sony's stupid keys)

Homebrews should use BOOT.BIN, while PSN games should use EBOOT.BIN

Ever wondered why the name "Eboot" is so common?

Hi SuperFury1, congratulations for this application that is very interestant if you find the way to put PSX iso files directly without converting to EBOOT (or maybe how to put the *magic* value into it to make it bootable).
Anyway are you going to relase the source code so it can be ported also to Mac or Linux? Thanks for the answer and keep going.
Greets.

As the app is called EBOOT2ISO then why doesn't it convert an eboot into an ISO?
All it does is dump the eboot into a dir so it should be called EBOOT2DIR or EbootExtractor
I've tried it on 3 eboots and after making ISOs in UMDGEN it refuses to boot as files are missing and in the wrong places.

Is this for homebrew or retail eboots? So far I've heard homebrew works and retail game eboots don't.

How about testing it yourself or get some testers before releasing v1.2

It's called EBOOT2ISO, because it currently creates a ISO directory structure from the EBOOT (no PSN ones). I still have to implement creation of .ISO files, but i can't find a good reference on how the .ISO files' structure is (need the app to copy all the files from the EBOOT.PBP's folder to the /PSP_GAME/SYSDIR folder)....

BTW i have tested it myself (On my own homebrew apps and on the PSN-store EBOOT).

Well it can convert them but then they don't work in iso format.
Your psn eboots work after the convertion ?
