Can anyone tell me that status of LUA USB/Serial access? Last I heard (a few years ago), serial was ok for slow comms (keyboards) but for things like GPS, data was getting lost when received.
Basically, I've written software to communicate with my cars ECU - it's a propritary format (not OBD) and I now want to use my old PSP1000 as a live data monitor.
What needs to happen is this:
ECU sends out a 6 byte data stream @ 1200 baud when the igniton is switched on.
PSP would need to reply with three bytes, each separated by 110ms @ 1200 baud.
PSP would then need to switch to 7812.5 baud (or close).
After that, its a case of send one byte, receive 1 byte - as fast as possible.
So, via the headphone port, is this doable now with LUA? What would be easier, hardware wise, would be if I could use my USB diagnostic cable - is USB host support available now?
Oh, also, is there any kind of gfx library now? Data in text form is all well and good but a nice GUI would be awesome!
