Default Tetris for PSP 2.0

My first PSP homebrew, using the TIFF exploit. The main purpose was to teach myself about programming using the PSPSDK, and to explore the environment provided by the TIFF exploit, but it's a fully playable version of tetris.

Tetris!

Uses code based on groepaz's Hello World.

I'll be polishing it up and releasing some source code soon, to help others out.

Hy,
I really want to play your game, but I'm not able to install it!!
Maybe i'm too stupid!??!?!

I've tried to put only the "h.bin" in the root of the MS, but i'm not able to start anything in the "Photo" area.

Then I downloaded the original Exploit and copy the "frame_buffer.png" onto the MS and use it as Background Image. After that I copied your h.bin in the root of the MS and the Overflow.tif into the Photo directory.
If I open then the photo directory the PSP still freeze.

How can I install Tetris on my PSP??? Plz help!!

I think what happened is that he included h.bin, but forgot to include the overflow.tif file which contains the actual tetris game. XD

The reason I say that is because, I don't see how only a h.bin file would work alone. Since all other 2.00 homebrew have included a .tif file in the package.

Hy N-Mario,
in the RAR file from Fanjita is only a "h.bin"!! No other files!!

The "Hello World Mod" has also only a "h.bin"! So there must be a way to use these files, but I dont know how!

I'm sorry!!
I've made a stupid mistake!!!

I've only downloaded tetris from "PSP updates"!
In the zipped file from Fanjitas Homepage are completely different files!
If you copy this onto your MS it works fine!!

Thank you Fanjita, nice game!!!

Yep, the original h.bin file was intended to replace the h.bin from things like the Hello World demos.

On my website (http://www.fanjita.org/psp.html) I maintain a link to the latest version of the code, including a readme for how to install it, and an easy-to-install ZIP file containing all the necessary files.

It's worth downloading again, even if you already have the files, because I recently made a bunch of fixes and added a bunch of features.

BTW, the TIFF exploit loaders work like this:

- the TIF itself causes the initial crash, that makes the PSP go off and run the desired code.

- Early versions of the exploit uses some code in the PSP wallpaper to load a file called H.BIN, which contains the actual homebrew app.

- Later versions of the TIF don't need the wallpaper, and just load H.BIN directly.

My latest copy of the TIF actually loads I.BIN, to avoid clashing with any other versions.

So is use of the home and volume buttons lost to homebrew forever now? or can it be coded to quit and stuff?

Just extract the thing to the root, that's all I did and it put everything where it needed to be. I got it from the main page if that makes a diffrence.

No problem, it's been a while since I actually contributed anything to the site aside from being a troll and adding useless comments

Quick recap on the install instructions in more detail:

- Open the ZIP file
- Connect your PSP via USB to your PC, or stick a memory card in a memory card reader
- Check what drive letter your memory stick is (e.g. X
- Unzip the contents of the zip file to the root (top) folder of your memory stick, i.e. x:\ - make sure you have "include foldernames" set on your unzipper
- You should end up with this file structure on the memory stick:

x:\i.bin
x:\readme.txt
x:\psp\photo\tetris\aaa.p ng
x:\psp\photo\tetris\run_i .tif

Now put the memory stick in your PSP, and you should be able to run the game by browsing to the photo viewer, and opening the Tetris folder.
