Hi,
I don't know if this subject has been covered anywhere, (and I used the search function for a brief search) but it covers using the Tedzero browser anywhere with a static IP set in your router.
I had some problems setting it up, read Railside's guide (thumbs up for that one), and did some research. The thing is that my ISP are distributing their IP adresses with DHCP. I can't put it on static (although I have a static IP) otherwise I'll lose my connection after an half our or so. So that was a bit of a mess.
After some googling I found a solution that worked for me. And I hope that it will work for people who have the problem of not being able to turn of DHCP in the WAN settings too.
When I turned on the 'NAT loopback' I could easily use any hotspot to connect to my PC. So even without being able to configure my router with a static IP I could make it work with DHCP and turning on NAT loopback.
Well, hope someone can use this...
Greets,

Real quick, I lost post I just sent:
1. Great JOB! I like it.
2. I like the different profiles (kinda) Set up config files for diff. access.
Flipped side:
1. Often server crashes, for no reason. Random crashes even if nobody is connected.
2. Log in with wrong username/password, server crashes. Can you set up message instead of crash? So if on the road, we can still try to log in before getting home to restart server.
3. PSP freezes when trying to view desktop, have to reset PSP to fix. Could view before, prob. prev. version.
4. Sometimes PSP freezes when logging in, but maybe only 1/4 of the time.
Is it possible:
1. To make PSP send files to PC
2. Share files between other PSP's, Like InfraRed progs, or cell phone progs (share pics, mp3s, files, ISOs)
THANK YOU!!! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!
I just recievd a pm from ted about his absense from the orums and this topic. I though i should let you all know whats going on.

Yeah I saw psphacking101 yesterday..
Just caught up in my office work..
I am working on solitair game for PSP..

and if no wireless is found i wud still let the browser open so that one may play music or rename/delete files.
But as I said.. I am moving to a new role in my office and I am held up with lots of activities.. will do the updates sooner..

Just curious, don't know if this question has been addressed before.
Why doesn't TedZero browser support standard network shares instead of requiring it's own server application running on the PC. Wouldn't it be easier / simpler to just support standard network shares instead of writing a custom server for 1 semi-popular app?
Seems like PSP is a great tool for streaming things from your PC via WIFI. Imagine, being able to play all those videos & music files you have on your PC from wherever you are in your house with your PSP. Why isn't there an app that lets you do this (stream media) using standard network shares?
Is the Wifi standard supported by the PSP really THAT slow? Is it possible developers have just not tried doing this? I can say, my XBox gets most of its use since XBMC (Xbox media center http://www.xboxmediacenter.com/) became stable.
Developers help me answer this question!
Thanks for the reply. I took all of the defaults verbatim from the download and tied it like 20 different times. Anyone else still just seeing the c:\?Zitat:

Hey I just remebered, when I had first downloaded it, the download was corrupt (as it did not have the "Copy files to PC" folder containing the actual server itself! along with the SCONFIG!) anyway if a second/freshly downloaded version doesn't help, double check your software firewalls (Windows; Norton, etc...)/hardware firewalls (NAT router, if you have one) to make sure that your firewalls aren't blocking the server from being able to communicate with your PSP; also, the folllowing info has to be 100% correctly entered:Zitat:

;SERV= 192.168.0.101; <= MAKE SURE THAT YOUR COMPUTER'S IP IS HERE
;PORT= 9898;
;RCON= static; <= MAKE SURE THAT WHATEVER YOU NAMED YOUR
STATIC IP ON YOUR PSP GOES HERE (i.e.
"Connection1", or "Static", etc...)
;SUID= ADMIN;
;SPWD= teddy; <= MAKE SURE THAT THIS IS EXACTLY THE SAME

If, after referrencing Elmo's in-depth How-to, you are still encountering the same issue, email me or post your TESTCONFIG along with your SCONFIG files and I'll walk you through it/answer any questions for you until you get it up and running!
p.s.
aside from Elmo's excellent guide there are video's on how to set up and install this program @ the following URL: psphacking101.com; Episode 8 covers the Tedzero Browser install, and Epsode 7 goes beyond in-depth on how to make a static IP for you PSP; however, if you need some more hands-on help with any aspect of this program and how to get it running, let me know and I'd be obliged to help ya!

Hey Fraggle, I was able to replicate your dilema on one of my PSPs; you have the wrong IP address typed in your TESTCONFIG file, unless your using the 2nd TESTCONFIG file for another server on a 2nd computer, either get rid of it, have the exact same thing in both of your TESTCONFIG files, or change the name from TESTCONFIG to whatever helps you out, but make sure that your selecting the right TESTCONFIG file when trying to connect; and just to double check, make sure to do the following step from Elmo's guide to make sure that you are entering the correct IP address into the TESTCONFIG file you will be selecting through the PSP when using the application:
Now for the PC.
Click on start, Run.
Type in cmd.
A command prompt should open up.
Type in "ipconfig" (without quotes)
Write down the number it gives you on the IP address line.
Step 4: Edit the TESTCONFIG file to change the following lines from:
;SERV= 192.168.1.2;
;RCON= Conn;
To:
;SERV= xxx.xxx.x.x <--- this refers to your PC's IP address;
;RCON= Static --> the name of your new static ip connection on your psp ( in this case Static)
I'm 85-90% sure that once you get this right, the program will work for you. The reason you can't see the file on your PC under the C: prompt is because you either have the wrong info in your TESTCONFIG file, and remember, like I said above: unless your using the 2nd TESTCONFIG file for another server on a 2nd computer, either get rid of it, have the exact same thing in both of your TESTCONFIG files, or change the name from TESTCONFIG to whatever helps you out, but make sure that your selecting the right TESTCONFIG file when trying to connect! I hope this gets it runnin 4 ya.
Alright i've spent the entire day reading through this post trying to figure out how to get tedzero to work. The issue I keep coming across is i noticed is p pic someone put up of what the fileserver.exe should showing i.e.:
11/28/05 14:14:23 Ready to accept
11/28/05 14:14:23 Comments: Version 2.4.1 (came with v 2.4.2 download)
11/28/05 14:14:23 Author: tedzero
11/28/05 14:14:23 File Server Started....
And thats all I get, when i try to connect with my psp it shows that my c drive is empty. I've port forwarded(same ports as I used to use with bittorrent 50000), damn sure that my settings are right(i've double, triple checked). I am completely stuck, when i sw the pictures of what the fileserver was supposed to do it was something like "connected" and stuff. Man any help would e appreciated as this is easily the best app for the psp, homebrew or not.
*alright I figured out how to get it it to work on my lan only (i used the lan ip instead of the wan ip) I have a crazy versalink router and it has stuff like "ip passthrough" or "static nat". I don't really understand it except that when i do ip passthrough suppsoedly whatever computer i choose will share the wan, but the problem is the port forwarding acts up and won't let me choose a host device.*
Any help setting up tedzero for acess anywhere would be greatly apprecciated. And way to go tedzero man this app is the Sh*t!
thanks a ****ing lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!Zitat:

No problem. I had problems with the program 2 when i began so i made the guide for anyone who is having truble.
for some reason when i connect to my static connection a yellow ! mark in a yellow triangle shows up in the corner of my pc what does this mean
That is your windows sp2 firewall talking. If tedzero browser works, id just leave it alone. I have the same thing. Now I actually need to ask a queston about this. Its a broader subject though. How do i get my psp connected to my laptop wirelessly. I just got one (first one) and it has an Ir port and wlan built in, but i do not know how to get it to work.
it doent work i just get a blank screen when it connects i mean ishows the files in my psp but no files in the hard drive dierectory.
and about your problem i dont know i dont have a laptop
You read my guide reinstalled it and it still has that problem... thats really weird. I mean my best advice is to just have at it and keep tryin different things and post your findings.
its just my files in the hard drive dont show up the c drive is blank but it still shows my root directory in my psp
Yeah you have a connection problem. I seriously have no clue what the problem is because it can be a multitude of things. Try doing it over again and again untill you get it. It can also be that the server isn't running on the computer right. Just try and run through these things and compare with either my guide or other peoples problems and fixes. Also it could be your firewall. its just too much to go through. Just keep going at it untill you get it.
alright i'll keep trying.
be back in about an hour or so
i'm still having a little trouble i'll have to keep on trying
i found out that the yellow ! mark means that there is an ip conflict with another computer on this network so when make my static connection this happens and i'm just totaly stumped and i'm gonna give up on the best homebrew to date.
if you could just guide me through it step by step via posting that would be better
Zitat:
Hey I had the exact same problem with the "IP conflict balloon" popping up in my system tray; So did some one else a few pages back, and I assume the advice I posted helped because they didn't post anymore, (unless it was you!, i didn't check!); anyway, what the problem is, is that your PSP has the same IP address as your PC/laptop and this is the reason that your PSP will not connect to the server....see just as in real life, no 2 people can have the same mailing address, as the post office wouldn't know where to send what! If you follows Elmo's guide on how to make a static IP, keep the generic "Connection 1" on your PSP that you used to get your IP, Primary and Secondary DNS information you used to make your Static Ip on your PSP; I'm about 98% sure that this is what your problem is, as I have experienced the exact same dilemma in the past. If Elmo's guide doesn't help, try veiwing episodes 6 & 7 from psphacking101.com: episode 6 is an install guide for the PVNC for PSP (which also requires a static IP; PSPRadio too!!), and episode 7 has an in-depth explanation on everything static IP!....If these resources don't help, I will personally walk through this with you as many time as it takes until we figure it out! If you need some more one on one help, email me and I'll respond (and I'm no snob, won't call you a noob, no man comes from his mothers womb equipped with the knowledge to dominate all things electronic! EVERYBODY needs help, so don't hesitate to ask! emal me @ [email protected] if you need further assisstance! Anytime! Hope this helps and I hope you get this awesome program working!
Did you manage to get your wireless internet connection on brand new laptop? (congrats on the new machine!) ....just wondering
thanks dustin i'll get in touch a little later today because i'm in class right now and dont have time to do it right now
Anytime!
No i didn't. Im like really mad cuz i really wanted to have vnc and tedbrowser on here so yeah. Im not sure because i have an Ir port and this just doesn't make sense. I try to do it through my wireless network but it still doesnt' connect. I have to try and figure it out. Yeah my new laptop is a beast, or atleast for me because its my first laptop EVER!!!!! I got it on ebay. 1 gig of ram win xp professional the works. Its pretty sweet and i would loooove to have tedzero browser on it. But its just not giving me anything. Ill keep trying and i will post it up if i get it to work.
Holy Sh%@T!!!! A Gig of RAM?!!!!?!? Dude, that's awesome! must be scream'n fast! Sounds like its a beast!!!, (by any man's standards!)
I'm not totally sure, its been a while since I got mine up and running, but if you check in the "Control Panel" (under the "Start" menu) you'll find an icon that's called "Network Setup Wizard"; after you set up a connection through your "Network Setup Wizard" look down and you should see an icon in the system tray (lower right hand corner of screen) that looks like a little computer with 3 little lines coming out of it, and a little red "X" over the three lines coming from the little computer. Make sure your wifi switch on your laptop is turned on (the on/off switch should be on the side, or front, etc...), and left click (once) on the little computer icon w/red "X" over the little lines, and a window should pop up; click on "Refresh Network List" and your laptop will automatically scan for the Wifi signal you set up in the "Network Setup Wizard". You should see a little balloon pop-up from the system tray, but instead of saying "IP conflict with another PC on the Network" like [email protected]'s, it should say "Wireless Network Connection is now Connected" as well as the network's name (whatever you named it through network setup wizard), and signal strength. If you're not using the Internet you can flip the switch off (to avoid ad/spyware/virusses) and just repeat the "Refresh Network List" process to reconnect! My laptop has a built-in IR port as well, so this is how I got mine working, its kind of almost like setting up an internet connection for your PSP, in fact the two have alot in common...anyway man, I really hope this info can benefit you in some way, lots o' luck! and congrats again on your brand new MONSTER (Damn, a Gig of RAM!, I'm still drooling...that is soooo sweet!)
Yeah and plus im gettin an upgrade soon so it will be even better. I hope i could get a 2 gig instead with a new hdd ( 40 gig isn't enough). I was thinkin i could get a cheap external hdd with fingerprint security. Sorta like the one from lacie. lol. Ill try that tonite and see what happens. I already have a wireless connection set up so this should be easy.
Ok i finnally got it to work. I made a noobish mistake and had my laptops ip adress the same as my psps. So i did a quick static ip change on my psp and vioala. I got it to work. Now I don't need my usb cable to transfer the little stuff. Thanks alot dunstinmyles u helped out. Now if only ted would come back from the dead and post a lil sumpm sumpm on the thread.
I Agree, 40 Gig isn't enough, and I also agree, I hope Ted has got some good news soon! @ 2 Gigs, you would be nigh unstoppable!!! I'm glad you got everything setup!!! Damn!, I want a Gig of RAM for my laptop!, Its just that I'm starting to save now for a PS3!! (I'm a long way off, I only have like 180$), I absolutely cannot wait for that machine!!
p.s.
I'm assuming Trigun's IP conflict has been rectified as I have not heard from him, I hope he figured it out, if not - Trigun - just let me know!!!
So what's going on with this now? No one has said anything in a while.
Nothing from ted lately but im sure its because hes busy. We do have lives you know...
That is unacceptable.Zitat:

Tedddddd :icon_surp I miss your versons. I dint saw no more versons when I lost my psp that was mine for some days ;) but anyways, I got a new shiny one
Comment below if your still going to finish the VNC.
:icon_wink
When I start this up on the psp its just a black screen. How do I know which port to put in the config.
Btw is there a quicker way to enter the port into the psp, it takes ages to get to the right one.
edit the config file on your psp
this works really well
But it works well on my lappy but not my other computer, it conects and shows me the c: but nothing in it
my bad the password wasn't in capital letters duh!
Hello Folks,
