tedzero, i noticed a bug with the status bar
for larger files, it seems to get stuck at a point, (going up, then down, etc) until the file is downloaded
also, when asking to download or delete a file, there's no delay, so "no" will automatically be selected
and files with longer names cant be deleted for some reason

OK i've managed how to pass through IPs, but now it says: Invalid password
and there is a blank page where root should be.
I don't have any config1 file, only tests, test, tedzero in psp and sconfig, fileserver on PC.

make a normal connection and after it says that it's a good connection and all
when it lists all of the number you'll need to write them down(shows up when you test the connection)
the numbers or ip's that you'll want to write down are
ip address
subnet mask is always 255.255.255.0
default router
primary dns -usually the same as default router
now make another connection and
under address settings choose custom
then under ip address settings you'll want to choose manual
now is where you input those addresses you got earlier
just put them in the same spot, or put them with the same name
and then save your settings and test it to see if it worked

It's running, but when psp tries to connect with pc, SERV app tells:

How i can get it to work? I even reinstalled and checked everything

I will provide you all with a program which may be used to edit these cfg files.. so that you dont have to worry about the stupid syntax.:)..

user2 and so on
here
and then name your other config files acordinglyCode:PORT= 1024;

USER4= DRIVEH= AGRET= H:;

or you could name themCode:USER1.cfg
USER2.cfg
ect.
USERC.cfg
USERD.cfg
that way you know what drive your accessing
but remember that the names of the config files on your psp have to have the names that are in your sconfig file on your computer.

Works great from what I can tell, but there are a few things that I noticed while using it.
1. Select button doesn't seem to switch between PC and PSP.
2. Triangle does nothing. (it's supposed to bring up the menu?)
3. Font is so small, that using the mouse to select anything is frustrating. I prefer to just use the arrow pad.
4. Buttons can be quirky for some reason. I may be using it wrong, but from what I can tell you use the circle button as a mouse button, and the x button as "enter" so to speak. The X button works fine for selecting things, but the circle button seems very touchy, as in it will select something multiple times on one button press.
5. Large directories seem to time out, requiring a restart of the PSP app to get things back to normal.
6. Would be nice to have a "extension" default selection. Like say, if the extention is MP3, have it default to "play" instead of "delete" when the X button is pressed. Maybe set this up in a config file? I dunno.
7. Since it seems you have gotten it to stream your desktop to the PSP, I wonder if it would be too difficult to set it up to also stream mp3's from the PC to the PSP. This would be a very useful addition.
8. Alot of the file transfers don't auto refresh the list. IE. If you delete a file, it still appears in the list until you leave the directory and come back. Same with downloading.
9. Text At the bottom panel when downloading is garbled. (I think if it passes the line size, it overwrites on top of itself)
From what I can tell, the back end of the app works perfectly, but the interface is still a little bit quirky and hard to work with. Not criticizing at all, just pointing out things that I've noticed. As is, this is a great app. Just take this as a bug report/suggestion.

for me, the select button doesn't work at all. As for the View Desktop, I don't know what I did to get it to work, but it did. Now it won't after you asked me about it. lol
I was actually trying to select "StartSong" and ended up hitting viewdesktop instead. It looked cool, looked like a partial screenshot of what was on my computer screen at the time. (not the whole screen due to resolution) you know, I just thought of something. Since the Square button isn't really used, it would be nice to have a "back directory" button as well. Oh, and having select work. ;)
yeah the view desktop doesn't show your whole desktop as the code TEDZERO used to fix that and resize it made it wierd so he'll fix it when he can get averything else working

It's still impressive that he even coded it to show your desktop. I was really blown away by that.

this program is amazing!!! ive spent 2 days trying to figure this out and i finally got it! i bought a router just to try this program at home. i kept getting the an empty c: drive at the top of the program because the passwords were wrong. i finally noticed that in the new default 'sconfig.cfg' the passwords were different.
instaed of being:
;PORT= 5800;
;USER= ADMIN= teddy= C:\;
;USER= GUEST1= teddy= C:\:
they were:
;PORT= 5800;
;USER= ADMIN= TEDZERO= C:\;
;USER= GUEST1= teddy= C:\;
in other words change the default 'TEDZERO' to 'teddy' because the default 'test.cfg" files have:
;SERV= 192.168.1.2;
;PORT= 9898;
;RCON= Conn;
;SUID= ADMIN;
;SPWD= teddy;
;DRIV= C;
i didnt notice the passwords were wrong because the fileserver does not refresh unless it is minimized and maximized again. duh!!

Agret you are an idiot... It works i can vouch for it. You just can't get it to work. So stop being negative and get out of here. Just because YOU can't make it work, doesn't mean the app does not work.
I'm an idiot because I setup the configs properly and the app doesn't even load them? Right.... The VB setup app the creator has released loads the config variables fine but when you choose a config on the PSP it still prompts you for connection info so the PSP part of its broken anyway, I suppose the PC part could be working fine as you can vouch for that.Zitat:

Hmm I got it to load the config by fixing an error I made.
It's not bad although the "mouse" lags like hell (probably because of a delay introduced by the input code so you dont hit X and enter 3 folders at once :P)
the x button selects what is hilighted and the circle is your mouse button
now which config is that, the one on your psp or the server config?
and remember that all his code is from scratch and that most of the features like the view desktop and stuff are just a proof of concept

The one on the PSP, it loads properly now as I said. So circle is the mouse, that makes a bit more sense I guess. I think the mouse should select items when you move over them and X selects still just to keep the controls somewhat the same. It's interesting that this app throws away all config standards and employs it's own though. You seriously shouldn't have to comment out your settings to use them!
Anyway its all good now (I guess) but I still haven't found a use for it since it doesn't support streaming or anything so you gotta connect to your PC, download music over slow wireless then quit and goto music and play it then delete it and then go back into the app and go through the connection process again....
I've got it working, know any uses for the app?
eventually it will be more like a nvc and you'll be able to stream mp3's, pictures, for a preview thing, and maybe txt files (i just thought of that, need to ask ted if it's possible)Zitat:

TXT files would be easy to implement, its just the same as how he sends the directory list.
MP3's will be good, maybe something like a mix between WifiJukebox and PSPRadio so you can listen to your mp3s while they stream (WifiJukebox you gotta wait for them to download fully, PSPRadio is for shoutcast so it's not as easy to access the song you want)
For images just transfer a file with the existing file transfer code and display it, not hard to do.... Is the source to TedZero file browser avaliable somewhere?
Also whats with so many releases and so little progress?

Well you could use it to transfer movies and music over to your memory stick. It's basically a ftp server/client for your pc/psp except it's TedZero's own file transfering protocol. The interface is a little funky but it works. I'd love to see the interface cleaned up so it's more like FileAssistant or something better. Anyone remember Norton Commander? I love to see something like that. It'd also be great if it would show how much space is left on the memory stick. -hint -hint.Zitat:

1.) Use it to transfer files to your PSP without a USB cable.
2.) Or use it to transfer files you need NOW! (like homework - I do this one everyday from Campus) from your PC across town.

Just so you know, this program was not intended "support streaming or anything", it was intended for uses similar to the reasons listed above, if your looking for an application to do that try WifiJukebox, or here's an idea...write one yourself.

Haha dustinmyles your so crazy. I was too stupid to figure it out? Uhh no I'm just used to editing Linux configs and standard INI files and such where you put ; at the start of a line you want to ignore. Since the program doesn't even come with a readme I assumed they were example configs and you were supposed to make your own config based on the values in them (that were commented)Zitat:

I think using it to transfer files accross town would be better if it supported DNS's as well as IPs. My net isn't static and there is no way for me to find out my IP just using my PSP.

Hi, sorry, I'm going to be crazy reading all posts in this thread, I really need your help. First, is there a way to use TedZero brower on OSX? This could be very nice as I haven't a pc as server. Another question is: I can't find a working app for MOVE file inside psp FROM psp. I mean: take this MP4 and move in that folder... impossible? No. Any homebrew could provide copy and those have move function don't work! So, what about implement a MOVE function to file management?
