Hey!
I am starting a project which will be a theme installer for PSP, this WILL flash your FW but all things will be tested with SXT BFM beforehand. Anyways the idea is I will make an app with: + The top 10 homebrew apps, all with a custom theme + The 12 months to match the theme + Custom Text In the XMB (using fluffs method) + Corrupted Icons removed (using Fluff's method) + Possibly a custom gameboot.pmf + Background Lines removed (using fluffs method) Now, I will edit all the topmenu_plugin.rco etc. I just need someone to code up the eboot to copy the files etc. It should be a pretty simple task, but if there are any experienced coders I would really like to add these features: + Customized install (tick boxes or press X to install wallpapers etc.) + Sized install (choose your MS size) So I am looking for coders and GFX'ers! Show me some of your work! --pspmachine P.S. Here is some concept art:

Hey!
We have decided on the homebrew we will include in our theme, here they are: + Doom/Doom2 for PSP + SnesPSP TYL V0.2c + Web Browser 1.01 + PSPMame v0.96 r03 + Tetris Portable 0.3 + NesterJ v1.07 + PSPGBA 1.0 <----- to be replaced with DGEN due to compatibility issues + LUA Button Mashing Revolution v1.0 + PSPRadio v0.35 + PSP Media Player v0.0.5 These were chosen via the most downloads/top rated chart on PSPU for fairness, but if you think there is a bad choice on there then please post what you think it should be replaced with! Thanks! --pspmachine Last edited by pspmachine; 10-24-2005 at 03:03 PM.. Reason: Heh, I knew I would need this space :) |

okay, good luck. but i would rather keep the old theme, and change the graphics on the icons and stuff.
there is no such thing as a pmf encoder unless you work at sony. And i wanna be able to switch back to the old one. just my two cents. |

Good luck indeed. But until more is known about flashing the PSP with custom data and the saftey of it, I will not flash my PSP with homebrew firmwares yet, not till more data is learned as well as the ability to restore in FULL to ANY official firmware. But keep it up! I mean I wish homebrew firmware will be made soon to give us more options personally.

Yes, but everything this app will do, has been done before, this will just automate and customize it to match into a perfect theme...
I hope this clears up some issues... Now any GFX'ers/Dev's? --pspmachine |

I know it has been done before, however not many are that secure about PSPSet as it is or know any long term effects done by this if you use it, cause right now, there is no way to fully restore or even a promise of restoring. So what I am saying is, Im looking at the data personally of events going on, seeing whats new etc,
What I gather is PSPPersonalize has cause NO issues as of yet, majorly, while PSPSet can. Untill everyone understands firmware more, had real tests on it, I will wait. But I support the devs who risk their PSPs to make ours better and I am not against you, just am a word of caution to EVERYONE to be careful and do things aat your own risk. =)

lol yes thats why I am hoping to add the feature of tick boxes, and youve just given me another idea, I could ann an option that would apply the theme but ONLY the things that dont touch your flash!

That I would advise on, making a "Safe Mode" app as default and people would MANUALLY need to enter a menu to disable safe mode which would allow flash modding. Then as for the tickbox idea, have it where it COULD restore to what it was before, kinda like a on off switch, that will be a much more secure idea then just a blind app.
I would consider using it then too. =) (yesssss... broke 800 in just a week and a half. 801 posts now yeaaa)

I don't know how many changes i've made exactly, but i can tell you i've successfully re-flashed to 2.0 official and downgraded again. Simply flash your firmware with the default wallpapers and gameboots, and you've effectively restored your PSP to "stock"

More on subject, perhaps you could have your app create a back-up of any file it's about to flash over top of and add a restore option that'll bring those back. Of course, it would have to be able to tell the difference between the original files and the new ones or it might make a backup of the wrong one. ie: if you reflashed the background to, say, imageA, then later reflashed it to imageB you wouldn't want your app to make a backup of imageA, overwriting the real original. |

WOw, thats a nice menu, Not too original though, Maybe some random mechanical extrusions and wires and stuff, that would make it look UBER SWEET
