Default Doom-PSP v0.04 S.S. b5

This is the fifth release of Doom-PSP v0.04 S.S. and it will be the last. Here are the changes that were made for this release.

-Compiled against newer version of the PSPSDK

A graphical glitch that periodically occurred in the other versions of Doom-PSP v0.04 S.S. has been fixed. Doom runs slightly faster now and the graphics have slightly improved.

-Menus changed slightly.

Analog nub works in menus. Holding directional buttons now works to allow faster navigation through menus.

-Cleared conflict with the default button configuration without config.ini.

-Added overclocking feature

The CPU clock speed can be changed to run at 222 MHz, 266 MHz, or 333 MHz.

This release includes the eboot files for firmware 1.0 and 1.5. This release also include the complete source code for this program.

Awesome- it's a great homebrew. I have the older version- are the changes worth the effort of downloading and transfering? I love DOOM PSP- it's the best homebrew out there.

If you're playing DOOM2 or Final Doom you might want to check this out.

The 333Mhz CPU feature will certainly help those levels with (literally) hundreds of hellspawn

Also works on v2.0 firmware with the latest version of the EBOOT loader.

This is a nice port, very playable, good job!

Is there any way to load external PWADs with this? Or could it be included at all? I know there's the wad selector at startup, but it only lets you choose an IWAD (the main game file), and doesn't let you also select any PWADs (custom levels, etc.) to use.

You have to merge them with the full doom 2 wad.

See i was wondering the same thing, you could do it yourself if you had some way to unpack a WAD...stiiiiiill waiting for an answer on that one

Well, you could always unpack it with XWE... But that's a lot more effort than it really has to be to just load other wads along with the actual game wad... It could easily be done as a check list of sorts, where the user just checks all wads they want loaded, and then it loads them, instead of just choosing one... It sucks cause there are some pretty decent addons, too...

Now if only someone would port Zdoom...

Well cant you only merge PBP's with that program? I dont know, sorry if this sounds dumb, ive never used it so i wouldnt know

WAIT A MINUTE! If you only had the Shareware, couldnt you simply rename your modded .WAD to DOOM2.WAD!!??!?!

I'm a little confused

1)To run commercial Doom 2, download the .WAD file, make sure it's named DOOM2.WAD, put it in the WADS folder, and away you go

2)To run the full Doom 2 wad, do the same as above

3)You already have commercial Doom 1 wad

4)To run full Doom 1 wad, rename it DOOM.WAD, and put it in the WADS file- overright the commercial wad

5)To run Ultimate Doom, put the wad in the WADS folder, and rename it DOOMU.WAD

6)To run some mods, you have to put them in the WADS file and leave their names the way they are (TNT.WAD ect.)

7)To run some mods, you must rename them DOOM2.WAD, and put them in the WADS file

8)To run other mods, you must merge their wad with the FULL Doom 2 wad. Then put the end result in the WADS file, renamed DOOM2.WAD

Sorry if I'm treating you like a newbie, but I thought I'd cover all the bases. Hope this answers any questions.
