Default future hacking possibilities

a good idea to get a long running exploit (one which sony won't be able toget around) is to think about what the psp has, and what you could possibly do to use these things.

i'm not exactly the most psp-wise person but what about these few ideas.

could you access the usb mode and run code? as in, fiddle with the usb function to get it to load something other than the usb load screen.
or how about the infra red port. there has got to be something there which allows us to get into it. if you sent an item through it, maybe it would allow something?
i assume hacks via wifi have alread been looked at. i don't know what you would try and do if you were to do that.
there must be something you can do to the memory stick too. actually i think that is a stupid idea...but none the less...
and the obvious hack whereby you load a game which allows you to run game, as we can already see in gta lcs. that is quite possible to do, as thecheat device is proof. but that can be patched, because the decryption etc.
it's a post for suggestions, so what other ideas are there?

Problem is, you can do all these things.
But you'll only get them to run in a local mode, not kernel mode.

fair point, but wasn't fanjita's loader only user mode just a few months ago. i know he isn't directly accessing kernal mode, but using different techniques to be able to use it.
does the psp have like a safety feature or anything like that, which you would be able to turn into your own code?

Personally I think that game-specific exploits are the most future-proof method for hacking the PSP, it's very hard for Sony to do much about them because in principle, they'll work on any firmware version.

I also like these because they encourage purchase of at least one legitimate game...
