Default I think it just needs to happen.

I am no coder/programmer/hacker. but i have heard a few things that have gotten me thinking. As i understand it,firmware 1.0 psp's can make custom firmware. I think, for the sake of all of us upgraders, that some of the people who have own a 1.0, should make a firmware update that includes all the features of 2.6 and allows homebrew. I understand that for NOW, its just easier to hack the current versions of the firmware. but, in the longrun, wouldnt it be easier to have 1 custom firmware that can be updated with the new features of the official ones? i think that it would be. so please if there is a group doing this, inform me, if not i ask that someone takes the time to do it. thanks. also, would it be possible to use the psp emulator to test downgraders or homebrew apps.? thanks again

Hey Iball, can you explain to me why its not going to happen? Because i beleive that custom firmware can be made, or did you mean that having a firmware with the ability to use firmware and have all the features of 2.6 is not possible? because then i can understand that. I mean PSIX is about inches from being a custom firmware.

Well i think that would at least be the best way to i guess to get homebrew, and even if u cant get all the features of 2.6 or even some of them, thats fine i think its better in the longrun though

Custom Firmware will not be made anytime soon considering the risk of damaging your PSP is too high. It is not that easy to make, even if you have 1.0. Having 1.0 only means that you can run un-assigned homebrew applications and/or update files, but the problem is: we have no idea how the update files are formed (well, not fully known about).

If it was this easy...it would already have been done, but it is not this easy
