I've been fiddling with the idea of creating an IM'ing program for the PSP using the pic sharing abilities. It wouldn't really be to practical since you have to be close to the other PSP but oh well. I'm gonna start on the source code soon so i can update. It will basically convert the text you type in into a .jpg and send it and then the other PSP will receive it and open it up

No offense, but what's the point? You will have to be in shouting range from your friend with the other PSP to type up this file and then send them this file, and then your friend has to open it and read it. A maybe five minute process which could take 20 seconds if you just talk to them.

The only gain I could see with doing this project is to learn more about coding, but either way good luck with this project, hope it brings some nice coding experience to you for future applications.

Well seems kinda pointless, since almost none of my friends have a psp 2.0 (they are all retarded and updated to 2.5). But if i had a friend in one of my classes with a psp i would use it, or if i had a friend in a seperate class that is right next to mine. It could come in handy now that i think of it.

try using wi-fi...
that would give you more experience and the app would be a little more useful

You can send pictures with firmware 2.0 and up.

This could be the start of something interesting, as long as yo update it with new stuff every once in a while.. Like after you get text Messaging Perfected try doing audio. Maybe using the socom headset, you record something then send it and they get to hear it. Kinda like a walkie talkie.
