pmf should automatically know without us telling him that hes the best along with fanjita and nexis..........
Yeah well we all need a little appreciation sometimes ;)
And I gotta say, when your emu gets released I will love you forever ^^
i wonder if he even knows how big of a thread he has caused... lol
GO PMF!
still, this thread's been around for quite a few months already, but the mph gameloader thread was only out for around a week and it's 10 pages larger than this..
But this will be so much better than the gameloader when its done.
im sure that when he releases this, the thread will be much bigger than the gameloader thread
Well it's been over a month since pacmanfans last update so I guess there must be a bit of progress.
Now we play the stupid annoying waiting game.
Thats because every tenth post is "how do I get this to work" and 7 posts after that (or arguing about the piricy policy) about how we can't help with that here, so not a big deal ;)Zitat:

I got an email from PMF about 2 days ago figured I would share this with you all since it seems to show signs of hope. He said that the EMU is coming along nicely. Some big news is that he got the dynamic recompiler working on PC PSPE, but its still having some small issues on real PSP. He said h will be leaving a post sometime in march, and that we should watch for it.
Hopefully this meens we should be getta a beta sometime soon if the dynamic recompiler is working.

this is just my opinon but this is your first post (i assume) so im not totally trusting you.
But that is just my opinion.
Why would Pacmanfan email someone we have never heard of instead of doing a quick post in this forum detailing his progress. I will only believe it if I see pacman write it himself since everything in this scene has the potential to be a lie or fake. The fact that this is you first post only raises more suspicion.Zitat:
Zitat von dROMOR
Well that's really a useless email, PMF already stated that info in one of his previous posts, so nothing new. Plus, anyone could play the odds and say he will post something in March. That is a very likely guess.
Yeah I know its my first post but I made a fairly decent donaation to his page so I was talking to him in e-mails. I'm now posting the letter in it's entirity believe me if you will.
The emulator is coming along nicely, I'm still working on improving the speed. My dynamic recompiler code works fine on the PC PSPE emulator, but it's got some issues on the real PSP. I thhink is has to do with flushing the code cache at the appropriate times during the recompilation phase. I'll be making a post with a new version within the next month. be sure to look for it.

Hey man no problem, I love what your doing with PSP. I'm sure you get messages like this all the time but I wondered how the beta version is coming along. I know you posted about it back in january. I was just wondereing if we could get an update over at the QJ forums thats where I check to see how things are doing. Or maybe I'm looking at the wrong page. Keep up the good work.

And hax thanks for supporting me when Im just getting started on the forums lol
ya its a hard life for a low poster.when i was starting off people would always call me i noob and id have to prove them wrong then explain that just because you dont have many posts doesnt make you a noob.......
:p IT wasn't derrogatory towards you, just true. Anyone could play the odds like that, and I believe you now that you posted the emails. all we need here is solid proof. Trust me, there have been soooooo many people faking anything form "inside information" to downgraders, to PWNBrew, to custom firmware, to even Halo2. You can see why anyone would be wary. ;)Zitat:

BTW sorry if I didn't make you feel welcome. So..WELCOME!
P.S. PacManFan...if you read this, it's March...just a tiny update maybe please...
Yeah, I can understand, in fact it was my first post because usually I just read the forums, but since I got what I thought was some cool news I would share it.
Same thing with me, I was scanning the forums for a couple months before I actually joined. Well anyway, I hope we get that update soon! :DZitat:
Zitat von dROMOR
man i was scanning the forums when pspupdates still had the old website...
I agree, an update will be nice. I am behind you all the way with this PMF. :)Zitat:

please finish this i would love to play driver1 and 2 on my psp even if the frame rate is slow
i dont think anything under 30 fps will be very fun
well its not ultra difficult for someone who knows what they are doing (i have no clue about emulation) because the GP2X has no 3d hardware acceleration and it has a decent PSX emulator running, ff7 is almost playable. so with a little work, and some smart coding, this could run full speed no problem. [/end obvious talk]
I'd like to point out that some of the more turn based games I would like to play IE ff8, I wouldn't care if they were a bit under 30fps, Just getting to play them would be fun as heck
Why can't segments of the game be loaded from the memory stick instead of being thrown into the RAM? We can do that with the ISOs on CD based system emulators, so why not do the same with huge ROMs? I mean GNGeo2X (GP2X Emulator) utilizes streaming the graphics files for big MVS games..
Where The Hell Are You Pmf?????
Psm*n*ey Is Gonig To Release His 64 Emulator Soon
And You Arent Finished Yet!!!!
I Know Its Hard To Code(i've Tried To)
But Its Been Months Since You Released The Demo...
Comon................say Anything
havent checked lately, but do the (L2) or (R2) buttons work with a specific button combination or sthing? cuz i came up with somethin i dunno if it would help
Patience. When he does say something about it... He just might BLOW US AWAY with the progress he's made.
Patience.
actually there is a way of l2 and r2 buttons. pressing select sets a variable different. when variable is 0, then pressing the left button(l1) twice gives u l2. same goes for r1-r2.
when the variable is 1 however, left-right is taken individually ex. l1 two times.
Apparently the eye can only see 25fps and considering PAL video is encoded at 25fps I suppose that would be ok. Im happy with anything at all wouldnt mind 10+ though.Zitat:
Zitat von OGLOC
Not true. Try watching something like Project Gotham 2 against Gran Turismo 4 - You can tell the difference.Zitat:
Zitat von jack_561
Fair enough I see where you are coming from but i should really have said there is less of a difference from 25+ as there is from 10-25fps. Thats basically the reason I am happy playing my games at a lowish fps (not really lower than 25 to be honest) but I cant really notice a huge difference between 25 fps and lets say 100 fps on CS1.6 for example.
It is important!Zitat:
Zitat von jack_561
Look at Mario Kart on Snes9x TYL for instance. It barely manages 30/60 fps. It is pretty much unplayable as a result. Even dropping 60 to 50 has an effect on playablility of other games.
So for playable PSone games we really do need 45+ FPS (even with a bit of frameskip) to make it anything more than a technical demo.
I agree I did my research on the matter and you are right. I shouldnt really trust the people that sell me graphics cards. lol. Sorry for the confusion. :D
Most modern games (and indeed many PS1 games) are capped at 30 FPS, so if the emulator gets anywhere near that it will be more than playable. I'm not saying that a higher framerate doesn't make a difference, because it makes a huge difference but most people will be more than satisfied playing there games at 30 FPS because it's what they're use to.Zitat:
Zitat von Evab3vA
Woah. Just noticed that a super mod is from durham. That cannot be closer to where I live really. Im from peterlee (ish) if your wondering.
The problem that people are forgetting is that even if a game is locked to 30fps, that does not mean the emu only has to do 30fps to get equal speed. In fact the PSP (on NTSC tvs) is ultimately synced to 60fps or 1/60 of a second. If the emu is only doing 1/30 a second that means the games synced to 30fps are really only doing 15fps because the emu it self is only running at half the speed.Zitat:
Zitat von brain_stew
Game fps speed != Emu Fps Speed
cant w8 for next release :Jump: metal gear solid final fantasy 7 resident evil 1,2 and 3 would all be gr8 if playable in next realease dont care about frame rate aslong as thell run lol
Does somebody know because PacManFan doesn't speak of its progresses?

stfu let him work. go read his notes if you wana know more. don't understand them? stop pirating and go back to school ;p
