Don't upgrade. I refuse to support Sony's homebrew killing. I'll support PMF.
for me i will not update to 3.0 (or 2.70 i dunno). I will just wait to someone to do it for me and see if its worth it. but at a first glance of things to come... id say ... no update
it is going to have a very limited game supply with just sony and companies that explicitly give sony permission to rerelease their games. Also, it will be small. I do not foresee any game larger than 100mb being released. Next, it will probably be japan only, and it will most likely cost money.
You will NEVER EVER be able to play games like Metal gear solid and Xenogears on a psp, but you MAY be able to, at a cost, and a cost higher than buying the original at that, play games like Crash Bandicoot.
Everyone is scared now... Hahaha...
Wait and see. Everyone's opinions about 3.0 was way off.
Now that it has more then you could wish for.
Now everyone is scared.
Yeah, I'm going to upgrade. Homebrew community afterall... Is made up of 13 year old prepubescent boys.
Umm, what does that have to do with version 3.0 fw or even homebrew for that matter? :neutral:Zitat:

what would be funny is if sony contacted apcmanfan and offered him a job on the new official emulator when looking for a team to do it.
Alright if I was sony this is what I would do:
Say you have an account on their website. On there you can add Ps1 and Ps2 Games(via serial number). These Serial numbers can only be entered 1 per account. So now you have all your games on there. You can download them as many times as you can. Best way I see it without having to pay.
What's going to stop one person buying a game and then just distributing it on the internet?
NOTHING!!!Zitat:

I'll love the pirate that does that...
Guese what though? You still cant play homebrew. Only ps games. Id rather use this emulator and any other homebrew i want then just that emulator. also how old are you? 12?Zitat:

Spelling errors. Hmm... Who are you to assume I'm a 12 year old...Zitat:

Homebrew is nothing, with firmware like that.
Flash support and movie convert software will give me all the entertainment I need.
One more thing... I didn't ask what you wanted.
no one wanted your opinion. plus spellign doesnt mean anything. albert einstein wasnt a very good speller. plus homebrew can do all that. plus i just dont plane linke sony.
If you don't like homebrew then just leave, that's what this forum is mainly about. In case you haven't noticed, there is already a flash player homebrew, pspvideo9 is the best video coversion software and is not by Sony, and GPS has been done with a small amount of soldering. All these new firmware things are doable with homebrew, which has provided some of the best games for the PSP. The possibility of being able to make your own games is amazing, and I for one love it.Zitat:

is this gunna flush PMF's work down the toilet?
@mdebater. who are you to call all 13 year olds prepubescent.........
@trigun. i meant you couldnt play your ripped games.........
Absolutely not. The playstation emulator included in 3.0 will allow emulation for PSX games but you'd have to buy them instead of make the games yourself. Also, it would cancel all other homebrew, and as much as I want to play FFVII I also want to play Iris and Monkey 64 when they are released. It's a matter of if your willing to give up homebrew or not.Zitat:

Also, It might even help hiim in ripping the emulator out of there and using it to finish his PSpsone
:dry:Zitat:

i believe 3.0 firmware will be anyway cracked, as they update lot of new functioons, i won t be surprised if not all is securised
Homebrew can do anything Sony can, but for free. Nuff said!
Besides, this thread is about the PSPSOne.
Good Luck, PacManFan!
CANT WAIT!! :icon_bigg
Yeah, but Sony will hardly let you use those on the emulator. You will have to buy your games AGAIN.Zitat:
When this will be out? What is the state
hooray for sony ps1 emulator
1 serial number per account. You must also sign in on your psp to use it. (only way i see a free way)Zitat:

cough "THIS IS GAY BULL****"/cough
this is what sony will make u do:
1. upgrade. (which alone is bad enough)
2. pay for the games u already own. (15 bucks per game.)
3. buy another mem. stick to hold the games. (100 bucks more)
4. lose homebrew (priceless)
total cost: more that what sony makes.
here is what PMF will make u do:
1. dont upgrade (yay!)
2. rip games that you have, andplay the (price:0 dollars)
3. get another mem stick (he wont MAKE u do it, but some of us will have to, becuase thanks to $ony, we only get a *******32mb stick with the value pack.)
4. keep homebrew.
price: probably 0, maybe 100.
there ya go, complete comparisons.
GO PMF!!!!!!!!
Unless I'm mistaken, but I think the official emulator will have FULL speed games, and I don't think pmf's will be full speed. Still I can't wait for his though, will be so cool to get mgs on my psp
i guarentee if its gonna be an e distribution thing they're gonna make the games work for only one psp i.e. you type in your mac and it sends you the game...
but one aspect
eventually the roms will be hacked and we will be able to make our own and even make our own homebrew
Zitat:

you still have to pay for them, even if you own it
Sony can try try try, but "The Man" will never put homebrew down!!Zitat:

It would suck though - the e distribution thing.
...and in return for our hacking, everything must bought...again (again if you already own the original) :icon_sad:Zitat:

ot:man this forum is huge...
How would we lose Homebree btw? We still have the GTA loader. All Fanjita and Ditlew will have to do is find the syscalls again. Sony can never again fully secure the PSP.
Plus with this many features including ways to run games off the memory stick there is bound to be some sort of glitch that will allow us to run unsigned code from the XMB.
PacManFan will never have his PSPSONE emulator working at full speed for every game out there... but Sony will have their emulator working at full speed. you people are complaining cuz its not "free" even if you have the game. you poor asses need to get a job and be able to buy these games from sony... yeah i do admit that the roms i have i downloaded for free... but i own every single one of them from their orginal console. yeah it sucks that sony is gonna make use pay money to get the games we already have, SO WHAT!!! lets all get over it already. i would love to be able to have games i love, that i have never been able to own in the past, and it be completely legal. but then again, poor people like you have to find a way to play games for free!
20-25fps with frameskip is all ull need for any ps1 iso.
I feel like every one hates Sony But why?
If you think of it it would be like this:
NO sony--->no PSP--->No homebrews and great games.
So thank god there is something called sony without it you would have been stuck to your limited homebrew capability *****(other handheld)
When the PS2 came out...would you be REALLY annoyed if you had to pay for the PS1 games AGAIN just so you could play them on your PS2? Chances are, you'd tell them to **** off.
Same Applies here. You shouldn't have to re-buy the games you already own just so you can play them on another platform.
Although, somewhat bad example (Emulated Vs. Dedicated Hardware). Would you be annoyed if you had to re-buy Halo 2, or any game, just so you could play it on the XBOX 360? Yes, I know you would.
So, why all of a sudden Sony will make you do it (ESPECIALLY considering it doesn't have to pay for mass UMD distribution, only server costs) is beyond me.
Why would Sony ever do this? They are in this business to MAKE MONEY.Zitat:
Zitat von MikePiP
If they charge say $10-15 per PSone download I would probably go for it. It's not a huge amount to pay. I would rather not upgrade though.. So maybe not. ;)
I support PMF all the way, but I'd like to thank sony for finally actually attempting to add something somewhat interesting, instead of just trying to block what we (the homebrew community) have accomplished.
It's a matter of if your patient enough to wait for PSpsone or not. I am. I don't want to lose my N64 coming out soon and Iris.
