Cool acno's energizer

This is a beta of the game "acno's energizer" for the psp.
The graphics may suck, but this is for my programing class.

You can get it here and test it out for me.
Im still working on it (implamenting some stuff).
All it has is 3 playable lvl's and 1 lvl under construction.
It can run using Lua Player 1.5 (maybe lower) or File Assistant++.
Check the readme.txt for more info.

screen shots might be a bit hard since i dont have a digital camrea.
but if you check out the miniclip.com version, you will notice that my beta version has almost the same game dynamics as the miniclip.com one.

Had a problem with the server not being able to let people download the beta, cus it was a .zip file, so i added .jpg to the end of the extention name.

You can now get it here.

Hmmm. I have found another file hosting site (filefactory.com) and ive uploaded the file to it.

If you add this line of code for a certain button you can take screenshots since you say its written in lua. for this example its select.

if pad:select() then
screen:save("screenshot.p ng")
end

this is all assuming that its written in lua.

Did you try just using Lua Player to run it/Lowser? Maybe the program still needs working on. Any of our talented Lua programmers wish to hand out a hand?

Nah, I don't get to chat with Malum much and I'm very loose and talk openly, never have. I've only had a chances to chat with Giga, but I haven't seen him in a while....now back on topic!!!!

So, what type of game is this? I know there are levels, but um...any more description of it :O Hopefully you won't just throw this project down after you get an A+ in programming class :P

Its a puzzle game.

I might still work on it.
mabye create a vb program that lets you create lvls.

I have been modifying the code a bit more.
the core files has been modified a bit.
the gfx are a bit better.
made an icon for the program.
maybe add a high score file, with IrDA compare.
maybe some more stuff.

Once i make the game dynamics a bit better i'll release beta2.

oh yea, another thing, i said that this game can run on fileassistant++, turns out that it cant cus of the timer function ive implamented in the code.

This is a great game! Perfect for psp. But, it doesn't work very well on my psp, game over after just a few seconds=/ Hope you fix this, looked good the little I saw of it.

I might have not re-edit the time.lua code in the folder "core", when i release it as (i think) beta2. If you get the game over screen after around 5 second then your going to have to edit the time.lua code.

To fix this, open the time.lua file in any text editing program (don't use notepad cus it mostly puts the code on one line with squares as spaces), i recomend wordpad that comes with windows.
Next where it says, "tls=5" (this should be in the 3rd line), add a 4 after the "=", but before the "5".

This should fix that slight problem.

Another thing, i've been working really hard on the game.
Its comming along great and i might add in a few more lvls when i get the enemy ai fix up to have more that just going up/down. I'll try to add in lives and a few more things. I'm also working on a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) map editor in VB for this game, but first i'm going to have to get it to create lvl files. I might have a beta for it soon.

That wasn't the problem, hope you find it. Could it be that I am using fw 2.0 maybe? LUA isn't very stable on 2.0...
I hope you continue work on the level editor and the game. Fix bugs, add enemys, etc. Then this game could be the best homebrew out there, even beating attack of the mutants!

lvl5 is a custom level that you can create using AELC.
im still trying to figure out how to implament custom level selections.

Update:
I've added a main menu and a sub menu.
Im going to add an Continue sub menu.
Im going to add an Instructions sub menu.
Im going to add a High Scores sub menu.
Im going to add a Play Custom Level sub sub menu in the Extra sub menu.
Im going to add a Create a Level sub sub menu in the Extra sub menu.
Im going to add a Mods sub sub menu in the Extra sub menu.
Im going to add ir high score transfer & comparison.
