I've begun work on an RSS reader built in Lua. So far I can connect to a remote server and download an RSS file to the memory stick. Unfortunately, the server URL, path to download, and output filename are currently hard-coded into the program.
Eventually I plan to make it simply download the RSS file to whatever filename it has remotely... e.g. suchandsuch.com/news.rss -> news.rss, suchandothersuch.com/rss/news/ -> index.xml, etc. I can reasonably expect this same function to be used to download RSS enclosures like podcasts, too.
I also want to try to put in the TTLDE virtual keyboard, because I've found it immensely useful and easy to learn.
I'll put a copy of what I have up in a bit; I'm not at my home PC at the moment.
Of course the major part of the work is going to be writing an RSS parser, but I'm confident that I can do that.
I just started working in Lua yesterday, so if you've got any useful tips, they'd be much appreciated.
Any feature suggestions will be welcomed as well, and I'll try to respond to as many as I can.
