Default Trails Simulation

HPPD stands for Halliucagenic Presistent Perception Disorder.
this program attempts to recreate the visual symptoms a person with this
disorder can see.
a thread about it on HPPDOnline .

http://www.hppdonline.com/board/view...?p=25039#25039

Trails Simulation is Just a simple SDL application ported to PSP to simulate trails. Move the joystick to change the point of focus, use the Circle Cross Triangle and Square buttons to do different effects. Use the right trigger to change the background graphic and blend it in with the current pixels. Tested on Firmware 2.0 with Fanjita's Eboot loader

This is ANSI C++ using SDL so it can run on many platforms.
including XBOX/PSP/PC

to compile it out for the PC use the following command:

make pc

to compile out for PSP :

make clean
make

Download Trails Simulation

Basicly moves a bunch of pixels around in random directions and mixes them with other pixels based off the input you give the program.

its for when you just smoke a joint with your friends and you tell them you have a "WARP TUNNEL" in your psp. You show them the game and tell them to fly thru the tunnel.

Can i say, "spam?" But also, what can this be used for? Im being serious, not trying to put you down for the hard work youve done. Can this be improved? Maybe more colors?

So let me get this straight: from your website you pretty much overdosed on acid (LSD) and became a schizophrenic addict?
And your program can cause seizures in people that have epilepsy?
Not smart. Not smart at all. I don't think software for the PSP that can cause near-instant epileptic seizures in people (especially small children) should be allowed to be distributed on this site, no matter what "warnings" are posted.

Well, honestly, your website is confusing and hard to "read".
It basically makes you come off as an LSD-dropping, Leary-loving hippy.
The menus are not spaced out enough between selections, the site itself is too "narrow", and the background image hurts the eyes and gives one a headache.
Anytime you try to "market" anything, even afree program, the initial hosting site should have more of a "professional" approach to the look and feel. Perhaps a subset of HTML pages more to that effect would be better and they can ban "buried" past the initial site itself.

To look more professional and medical about the "problem" and so as not to have "LSD", "drug overdose" and "schizophrenia" associated with it.

It looks tons better over on PSC.
But the name? "The Master of LSD"? Makes you come off looking like a drug-induced hippy.
Oh well, that's your personal preference and you can call yourself whatever you please.

So I tested it out because it was compared to the flowers demo.

I remain grim.

Well i've done LCD quite a few times and it's quite a feat to try and be able to recreate that effect through a program I checked out your site quickly and really it looks fine, i've seen much worse...yet to read the literature though...sounds crazy if you are pretty much tripping constantly...I wonder how you could even concentrate to program :P It's a noble effort really....and Iball you have to learn to chill...distributing an epileptyic inducing program to children ? Freaking nintendo has been doing that for years, don't you read the warnings ?

I'd like to see this running faster, it's so slow to actually glean anything from it....also my perception on LCD was nothing like this...but maybe I didn't take enough :P It was more of a wavy "heat" blur over everything, then colors would slowly blast out their gamma and fade into the surrounding coulour and start to get brighter again....

Guess it's different...anyways it's cool, i'mma look through the code later as well...maybe you can just reduce the pixels by abit to get it going faster ? seems to only be going like 3 fps now...

I took your advice and lowered the amount of pixels being rendered on the screen so the frame rate has increased..

Updated Source Code
