Doom PSP v0.05, now with Dehacked support.
I've updated Doom PSP again. Here's the changelog

Changes in Doom-PSP v0.05
-Added showing of datestamps of savefiles
-Fixed problem with changing to chainsaw and showing map
-Dehacked support (use square to select a file) Batman Doom has been tested and is working, a sample .deh file is included
A big Thank you to the author of Chocolate Doom (http://www.chocolate-doom.org/) for letting me
use his code for the dehacked support.

very nice :) have u taken a look at the 2.6 Devkit maybe u could possibly get it working for the 2.6 people around here that keep on complaining!

This is teh pwnsome, now I could rename the wad mods to what they are and not DOOM2.WAD.... nice... but the only problem I found is that even when using the wad selector, it wont boot up the wad unless its the only one there... using 2.0... not that its a problem, doesnt really matter..
but its great.. fullscreen, chainsaw fixed and now music... (I was using DOOM v0.04 by Lantus).

I'm sorry, but I'm having problems getting the dehacked files to work. I tried using the arsenal one and the batman one as well but, both times the game ended up crashing. But when I just run the Doom wad without using the deh files it works fine. Would it make a difference that I'm using the shareware Wad of Doom1? Can someone help me out and give me a little advice on how to get this cool app working? Thanks in advance.

Ok, using a full version of the doom WAD I got the arsenal deh to work. But could someone please tell how me they got Batman Doom to work?

Hi, many thanks to the developers for making this, but can anyone offer me, a total novice, advice on how to get this latest version of Doom to run on the PSP?
I've looked around this and other forums for advice, and also followed the links in the read me files, but I still can't seem to find the information I need.
Any help greatly appreciated.

i also need help too ... where should i put the src folder and when it runs
press triangle for ?? press x for ?? onlt thing i know is the square for the .DEH file

I had the last version running fine, i then deleted the files and uploaded this one, now i cant seem to get it to work right.
It loads up, but once im at the black screen where you put in the WADs and PWADS, thats where im lost.
There are no PWADs in the PWADs folder that came with the download.
Any help is appriciated.
*Running 2.0 by the way*

and I guess for 2.0 people, you can only have 1 Wad on it at a time... if you have more than one it gets a loading screen, then stays on the black screen.

Ho2690x - The src folder is just the source, for other devs to continue work on the code. It doesn't need to go onto your psp at all.
Since I had some trouble getting this working at first; here's what I figured out. The main wad files like Doom.wad and DOOM2.wad go in the WADS dir. Any deh files that you have go in this dir as well. If you have Doom II Pwads (modified versions of the game like Batman Doom, or Star Trek Doom) Those go in the Pwads dir.

Then select your main wad (like DOOM2.WAD) by pressing X. If you just want to play the regular Doom 2 then press start and you're set. But if you want to play, for example, Batman Doom. Select DOOM2.WAD as the main wad by pressing X, then select the BATMAN.DEH file by pressing square, then go into the Pwads folder and select BATMAN.WAD by pressing triangle. Hit start and it should fire up as Batman Doom.
Some of these Pwads cause my PSP to crash a minute or so into the game, so don't be surprised if that happens. I'm not sure yet on which ones are compatable, but Batman Doom seems to work ok.

Ok i still need some help, i just cant get it working.
Is there anyway to play normal doom with everything in the download? I cant figure it out.
Here is what i have,
Arsenal.deh
PWADs > Nothing in this folder
So i hit square on the arsenal.deh, then i cant click X on any WAD file since i dont have any.
I just want to play normal doom. Is that possible with whats in the download? I cant seem to do it.

Ive been working on some additions to the latest version of Doom-PSP (005).
Ive added the autorun feature, you now run everywhere, but when you hold down the run key, you can walk again (think half life)
Ive increased the gamma to 3, little bit brighter, but a lil washout.
you can now zoom in and out on the auto map, which helps with the map alot
Ive also included some new music and a new timidity cfg file, better music, longer load times
and finally CHEATS!!! ive setup so that when holding start and pressing x o square or triangle activates cheats, god for x, all weapons for o, full map for tri, and skip level for square.
Ive just finishes tonight, ill try to get it uploaded tomorrow
ps to stereomike, this is in no way to "one-up" your version at all, i just added some things that as an avid doom gamer, i wanted to see in ANY doom game for psp.
PPS BIG THANKS for fixing the chainsaw map bug, that was annoying as hell

Am I right in thinking this will only run on FW1.00 and 1.5, not 2.00?
I ask because I've loaded the doom and doom% folder into the game folder on my PSP, I can then see the doom-psp thumbnail but when I select it I get a meaage saying the data is corrupt. I get this when selecting the doom icon not the doom% one.

Well the problem is, actually i have a few problems
1. if i put in the ultimate doom wad and (naming it ULTIMATEDOOM.WAD) run it as a
main wad, it wont finish loading
and if i name it DOOM1.wad, it plays the doom1 shareware ...
2.Batman doom does load (and play) but the sprites r kinda messed ..
it shows the doom guy's arms with a pistol instead of batmans arms, all the enemys
are doom enemies, and the weakest (pistol dude) enemies sprite changes from
shooting(zombified human sprite) to moving(imp sprite).. quite wierd
the music, sound and menus are fine
3. is there any way to run heretic? i tried setting it as a main wad, and setting it as
a pwad with doomII as a main wad, but i couldnt get it
oh and i use 2.0 fanjita loader 0.9. curiously, i seem to have no problem having
more than 1 WAD in my folder(unlike other 2.0'ers), though i get these problems

Ok, I've got the shareware doom wad, and it works no problem, but when I try and launch the goldeneye wad or the duke nukem wad, it just launches the normal doom wad with no sound. whats going on? plus I dont even have a pwads folder, where do I put it?
Edit: Sorry guys, figured it out. Now my only problem is the that my goldeneye wad freezes after selecting difficulty.Last edited by Jay C; 01-27-2006 at 11:37 AM.

I hate to bring this up again, but how do I get Goldeneye working? It says on another page I found it's supposed to run independently, but I can only get to the difficulty select screen before it freezes. Does this require the DOOM2 wad?
