i can never get this to work properly. Whenever i try and convert i get lots of skipped frames, even when trying out different FPSs it still happens.
So im sticking with 0.06 for now, it seems i dont get problems with that.

Alright, I think I got everything installed correctly, but I get this error:

The application or DLL C:\Mencoder\codecs\drvc.s o is not a valid Windows Image. Please check this against your installation diskette

Also, instructions are very vague on how to install this, if anyone has successfully used this, can they give a detailed guide?

When i do convert a file, it ends up not conveting any of the frames, and I end up with a 21.3mb file that does not work

Hi there,

are you guys using this package (mencoder included) ?
http://s12.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=...25 6LBMJGYDTSQ

I've tested it witch *.ogm, *.mpg, *.avi ... and it's working just great BUT i'm not shure how to use the aspect-syntax - ie: ":aspect 4:3" --> break after audio convert-step and there is no pmp-file created

Also i've problems with the cropping like ",crop=8:8:0:0" --> it looks like the audio processing is working ok but video conversion is skipped and the final pmp-final is useless

Hmm, what i'm doing wrong ?
Thanks a lot, greetings
abraxas81

P.S.: encoding with default settings works ... but movies have the wrong aspect ratio

The older version of this program used to work for me with everything.. I tried the new one and I get some kind of keyframe skip or something when I try to convert an XviD file.

or maybe a link for a file that has EVERYTHING you need all in one?

and where do you put the finished files you want to play?

Thanks

I just converted an WMV file to PMP and it worked perfectly, I'm very happy with the result I think I had it differntly placed (codecs), but thanks for clearing this up I can't wait to watch a few videos on my PSP with this player

If I successfully convert, then I might make a guide if needed for you other folks, but don't expect it tonight or tommorow, I have a lot of guides/threads to create for NDS first :P

ok I figured it out, and it looks ****1N PHENOMENAL! I mean really really nice, almost as good as UMD movies.

I got a little out of sync when the movie got going tho.. I converted a .VOB file (Fight Club) and it turned out to be like 600 something Megs? is this a normal size?

anyway if theres a tip or trick to get the sound in sync a little better please let me know!!
and thanks for the great work!

Well, I've got everything installed correctly, but whenever I attempt to convert RVMB formatted video, after about 60 seconds of the command box, 21mb of output and no video (only sound I think), I get this error:

The Application or DLL C:\Mencoder\codecs\drvc.s o is not a valid Windows Image. Please check against your installation diskette.

Any fix for this? I've converted wmv format to PMP which worked (most likely did not use this codec), so is it a messed up codec and I need a new one?

From here
http://www2.mplayerhq.hu/homepage/design7/codecs.html

better to get the Windows All Codecs (12MB) version it should include free alternative codecs
than

Encode again if another not a valid Windows Image foudn than delete that file

if you saw something like this

It should now, (at least it work on my system)

ok, ive been playing around with this a little here and there, I ran about 4 movies through already, and only the first one worked!

I was always using .VOB files, (is this not good?) and when I tried to play snatch, or 5th element, it wouldnt play it on the psp. gave some kind of wierd message about the inital frame?

I dunno what that was, but whats the best format to start from while using this?

the one that produces the best image, with the loudest and best sound and keeps the end product as small as possible would be great if there is one thats better than others to go from.

Lightbulb Add support for .vdr!!

Hey miemt11,

I got this thing working! Great app and sharp video quality!
But there I have one thing I hope you might be able to add. And that is the support for .vdr! When I add a subtitle in VirtualDub for the output, I want to start a frame server (which is in .vdr format) If I could be able to click on the .vdr instead of the avi (without sub) I have it subbed!
It would be really great if you could add that .vdr support as input in your PMP Mod Simple Converter because I (and many others I think) love this app!
And if you added this support, I will write a guide on how to subtitle your movies very easily!
Cheers

Ok, all thanks to miemt11, I have successfully converted RVMB files to PMP for viewing pleasure on my PSP.

And as thanks, I've compiled a very simple guide on how to do this, as well as other formats (same for all).

View it: PMP File Conversion Guide [Contains Download Package]

The hardest part of this installation and conversion process was obtaining the necessary files, but I've compiled a package (.rar) which contains everything needed and no more downloading multiple files

Default rmvb conversion help

has anyone successfully converted .rmvb files to .pmp

when i convert the rmvb movie, the pmp output file has the size of only 1kb (so its obviously not working right). sometimes i get thousands of frames skipped messages and the output file doesnt work with pmp mod

to the author, can you please help me out with this if possible, i downloaded pmp simple converter 0.08 with the necessary mencoder and muxer files and yet it still cant properly convert any rmvb files. i've had the same problem since version 0.05 and it still seems that there werent any bug fixes included with the new versions

Try downloading the file in my guide (post above yours I have it linked to). I've succesfully converted .rmvb files to .pmp, and I think you shall have no problem if you download my package and follow the guide
