Here's a quick port of a Mr Driller clone, called Ms Driller.
Original game by Adas Lower res graphics taken from the GP2X port by Kfazz ![]() I have modified the controls a bit to try and compensate for the PSP's crappy diagonal movement handling, so the controls are: Move: Analog or Dpad Dig/Drill: Circle You can also use the L & R shoulder buttons to jump up/left and up/right. Only tested on 1.5 firmware and seems to work fine - should also work on 2.0 if someone wants to test it out.... You can get it from here Todo - make it higher res and improve the readability of the ingame text and possibly add some background music.... edit: changed controls info... Working just great on 2.0
![]() I just dont like that the button you use is triangle. X or even O would be better in my opinion. Great game, just needs some better graphics, its pretty fuzzy at the moment, still nice though. |

Yeah the graphics are a bit lo-res and fuzzy - hopefully I can fix that quite soon.
I have changed the controls so you now use circle to dig/drill instead of the triangle. Link is still the same as in the original post. Glad to know it works fine on 2.0 - cheers for testing it out. |

Is the source available? I'd like to take a shot at modding this so I can polish it up a bit. It depends on what graphics library it's using, however. I can do SDL (It is a GP32 port, so it could use that), and PSPGL.
The game seems more fit to be played vertically, so if the playing screen can be rotated, the game would be a lot better. |

As I said, I'm working on making it a higher res as well as tweaking/adding other stuff to it.
As for making it vertical, I think it would be quite a lot of work. It's not only the brick graphics that would need changed, the whole game engine would need a major overhaul and the text/font routines would either have to be redone, or some kind of rotation code would need put in which intercepts anything that is being printed and formats/rotates it first, amongst other things... And yes, it does use SDL. The sources for the original game(s) are linked in the first post of this thread. I will make my modified ones available after I have finished doing the improvements I have planned. |
